Does anyone wanna talk about Easter? The weird pop folk iconography surrounding anthropomorphist bunnies and their addiction to chocolate eggs? That time Jesus died and came back and what that means? Modern Christianity as death cult? Isn't it weird that "Good Friday" is a legal holiday commemorating the public death and torture of an anti-authoritarian figure?

mum wasnt super religious but she acted like the fking pope at easter, always found it a bit weird

luckily she only made us go to church a few times. easter church always sucked bcz no good songs, i haaaaated it

we'd always try to bargain what else we could have besides fish, my brother made a v convincing case the inclusion of dim sims but alas

My mom is super into crafts and holidays and stuff so we always did baskets of candy and painting eggs and stuff. This year we are using it as an excuse to get together the family for a cookout it will be a nice break from the city!

One time I was sleeping at my grandma's place and got up to use the restroom and I swear to God I saw a giant Easter bunny who was like glowing lights jumping down the hall. It must have been a dream but felt incredibly real. Never went to a church service.

what easter means to me:

I liked almost as much as I liked Christmas growing up. My parents would always hide my basket in ridiculous places. One year my mom put one converse under the grass and made me go find the other. That was p much the best Easter. When I was in college my dad dragged me outside in my pajamas and made me start searching the yard. Figuring I was too old for a basket and a poor student, he'd hid money all around the backyard. Mostly ones but also some 10s and 20s. lol. We did go to church every year and would then have a big dinner with family friends.

We went to Portugal one year and were there on Easter Sunday. My mom went out looking for a basket and stuff to fill it with but could only find the big giant UK type eggs in a box. She got me one and I was so confused. Where's the basket? What's this thing? Etc.

nah fuck it they are mostly packaging, it's like a bar of shit chocolate in an unnecessary shape + a mug you didnt want

My sister wanted me to come up ("for" the 9-year-old) and I told her to piss off and wait for my birthday. I love chocolate but don't eat it much.
