I don't really start threads, but there should maybe be a Defend the Indefensible for people who back into parking spaces.
― Spencer Chow, Thursday, 19 April 2012 05:15 (1 year ago) Permalink
I backed into my own driveway just now

You can of course do what you like in your own driveway. I'm talking about in crowded parking lots with people waiting.
― Spencer Chow, Thursday, 19 April 2012 05:22 (1 year ago) Permalink
I don't think we use "Defend The Indefensible" anymore, Spencer. Showing your age ;)

so i just learned about the existence of the doodah parade, which is next weekend. my impression is that this is basically socal's mermaid parade?

You are correct.
― Reality Check Cashing Services (Elvis Telecom), Thursday, 19 April 2012 23:26 (1 year ago) Permalink
x-postDunnoh about the mermaid parade, but DooDah's been going since '78 or so. Basically a zany parade, that seems a little tamer than it used to be.

Pretty sure I have been there, and it is good, but been so long I don't remember the exact dishes I tried. I went with the LA Asian Foodies Meetup group, which I recommend for finding restaurants. Most events are in the San Gabriel Valley, Little Tokyo, and Koreatown.

- made mental note weeks ago to buy school of seven bells tickets, totally slipped my mind :/
- think bf and i are going to psychic friend on friday (will schwartz from imperial teen's new project) and next week i see demdike stare is at los globos...

Yes! It was great. You should have gone. Etc.
Fave musical part was Barbara Manning channeling Neil Young's "Arc" guitar sound. Fave part was the Dunedin pub built from scratch specifically for the show. The pho place next door was also noteworthy.
This may have been my favorite show of the week.
