ugh just made the mistake of clicking on that "September" cover, wow, what a total failure, not sure how much of my disgust is based on the video's hyper-cutesiness which, basically, so this whole band's deal is like what if your friends who are a couple and every one of their facebook updates is them doing something OMG SO SUPER COUPLE CUTE WE ARE CUTE AND FUN, what if those facebook updates gained sentience and became a band? But facebook updates are short, and four minutes and eleven seconds is long, and the backing track is okay for bedroom pop but the vocals are really thin and weak and wispy. And Hyundai is selling cars to this? Okay.

we love you guys. sorry for the long hiatus we've taken from our channel. nataly has been working on a solo record, and i've spent the last year listening to and learning how to make electronic music. both nat and i have been listening to a lot of EDM these days (maybe more me, really), particularly Koan Sound, Kill the Noise, Bar 9, Justice, Swedish House Mafia, and some old stuff, too, like Daft Punk and Aphex Twin. we don't want to become a dubstep band or anything, but we're so fascinated by this new wave of music that we really want to incorporate some of the ideas into our sound. this song is our first attempt at doing so. we hope you dig it! more songs and videos coming soon! thanks for staying tuned!

Which is also indiepop for the public radio audience. Somehow it's a lot more charming, though.

I think part of the charm of twee is that it's usually a modest and humble sound. Pamplamoose, however, are seething with false modesty but are actually really privileged, arrogant and narcissistic.

EDM-age Pomplamoose hasn't really lived up to my expectations. It seems like a whole new brand of irritation, which is less fun than it would be if they properly supplemented the irritation they already had going on.

Also it's kind of perversely enjoyable at points.
