xp i thought that's what his son was doing, just less charismatically

but there's no way they could do the ending on the show before the books finish. there'd be a nerd uprising

re: staying power - i guess we'll know how popular this show is based on the season 2 premiere numbers and that's likely to sway how long they keep the thing going. If it gets sopranos numbers, i imagine it'll be on for ten years.

If this season is a solid improvement ratings wise and that holds up for the rest of the seasons there's no way HBO won't greenlight it through the end. That's a given unless public interest suddenly plummets.

Imagine if we're onboard for the longest running tv show ever

how great would that be

i don't want this show to ever end

i think the simpsons kinda have that one locked down
but yeah, i'd be curious to see how this changed over the course of a decade as actors got way older

i thought i read they were going to start blurring the lines between the books at the end of this season, and messing a bit more with the chronology, in order to fit everything in neatly and pace the 3rd book properly

The other night I got super high and talked myself into buying the Blu-Rays for season 1 for some reason. I can't even loan them out to people because no one has a blu-ray player. smh

I was wondering if he would!

Not gonna check this thread till I've got my torrent tomorrow morning now. Though I broadly know what's going to happen as I've read Clash of Kings.

Two Skins actors now

stay in school if you want to kiw (Gukbe), Monday, 2 April 2012 02:06 (twelve years ago) link

LOL that was her! The infamous WS pick that will never go away? I knew it. But . . . who's the other one?

wolf kabob (ENBB), Monday, 2 April 2012 02:13 (twelve years ago) link

Robert's bastard with the bull helmet.

stay in school if you want to kiw (Gukbe), Monday, 2 April 2012 02:14 (twelve years ago) link

and yes, I couldn't stop chuckling about that infamous photo.

stay in school if you want to kiw (Gukbe), Monday, 2 April 2012 02:14 (twelve years ago) link

Oh, really? Do you know which skins character he was? I think I've seen every season but the most recent. Hmm.

wolf kabob (ENBB), Monday, 2 April 2012 02:17 (twelve years ago) link

Oh wow, I just looked it up he was Chris from the first season. He was one of my favorites. Huh!

wolf kabob (ENBB), Monday, 2 April 2012 02:21 (twelve years ago) link

what girl from Skins?

stan this sick bunt (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Monday, 2 April 2012 02:46 (twelve years ago) link

lol you couldn't help yourself, huh?

She only had one line tonight, I think.

wolf kabob (ENBB), Monday, 2 April 2012 02:59 (twelve years ago) link

I figured that would be her only presence in the series.

stay in school if you want to kiw (Gukbe), Monday, 2 April 2012 03:08 (twelve years ago) link

no, she'll be back

lol didnt realize THAT was the pic

i get so excited watching this with my wife because she's never read the book and i hear her comments about where she sees characters going... lol

stan this sick bunt (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Monday, 2 April 2012 03:17 (twelve years ago) link

When I saw her all I could think of was that dumb pic and I was just dying. Yeah, she's going to be a regular character iirc.

NEEDS MORE ARYA.

Office Tebow (Leee), Monday, 2 April 2012 05:11 (twelve years ago) link

Arya/Gendry/Jon Snow

Peppermint Patty Hearst (VegemiteGrrl), Monday, 2 April 2012 05:15 (twelve years ago) link

Needs More in general imo. I know it's got to set everything up but now that it's a bit of a sprawl I want more time per episode :(

I'm now at the point where everything Joffrey does, I savour it, because his demise MUST be inevitable.

stay in school if you want to kiw (Gukbe), Monday, 2 April 2012 05:17 (twelve years ago) link

POWER is power scene was A+

Kinda love Cersei when she's put on the back foot, she's so much more dangerous

Peppermint Patty Hearst (VegemiteGrrl), Monday, 2 April 2012 05:21 (twelve years ago) link

That scene was great, but I think it was a desperate move to prove something to herself. I hope Tyrion pisses Joffrey and Cersei off a lot.

stay in school if you want to kiw (Gukbe), Monday, 2 April 2012 05:23 (twelve years ago) link

xpost

IKR?!

And god, I was hoping for a repeat of the Tyrion slapping scene, but the little POS Joff started throwing his weight around OMG, it made me feel almost bad for her.

I want to say more, but I'll just say that it's the show making a meta-point about power; the viewers are going to be well-acquainted with the "knowledge is power" cliche, but when you've got mindlessly obedient guards with you, then that's just a cliche and nothing more.

Office Tebow (Leee), Monday, 2 April 2012 05:26 (twelve years ago) link

I got that vibe, but as it happened soon after her getting a talking down by Joffrey I assumed that part of it had to do with her trying to prove herself.

stay in school if you want to kiw (Gukbe), Monday, 2 April 2012 05:39 (twelve years ago) link

Before watching this episode I hadn't really anticipated how much I'd enjoy the Dragonstone crew and their antics, but now I'm sure they'll be my favorite part of the season.

abcfsk, Monday, 2 April 2012 10:53 (twelve years ago) link

Stannis and Davos are both spot on, though Melisandre could be a bit scarier.

Only just realised in this one that King's Landing is clearly Dubrovnik.
