Let's talk about Trayvon Martin, George Zimmerman, and how unbelievably fucked up this all is

I don't care whatever the hell else Zimmerman says about that night's events, it is clear to ANYONE that he shot a person he chased after in order to provoke a confrontation and there's no way in hell the law or any interpretation of it should condone that, no matter how many hoodies were worn, or drugs fell out of pockets, or anything else he concocts as an excuse for killing Martin. It is all irrelevant.

I wouldn't be so sure. That's what sucks about this case -- no trial.

and fuck that gawker article too. not the commenters (them too) but the article. they looked at the same apparent screenshots (even posted part of one in the header) and their "source" was still someone who hacked into a dead kid's account. same privacy invasion, all the same bullshit just to prove that he was "good" rather than "bad" and completely ignoring the fact that it doesn't fucking matter if he was a drug dealer or a prospective college student, he didn't deserve to be shot. if you want to know what he's like, listen to his parents and his friends when they talk about him, don't dig into his goddamn emails and then reinforce the idea that "bad" black kids are more expendable than the "good" ones.
