Musik Von Harmonia is one of the best albums I've heard in a very long time. It's perfect, to me (although 'Ohrwurm' is rather tedious).

I listened to some Deluxe on youtube, and the other albums, and didn't really care for them at all. I didn't care for Cluster, either.

I think that when it comes to Kosmische stuff, there's a point in the 70s where it all starts to sound a bit too crisp and too predictable, and then it starts to sound like New Age music.

Other tracks that might appeal to fans of this album: Phaedra, from Tangerine Dreams' Phaedra album, and Sunrise in the Third System, from TD's Alpha Centuri album. Neither are beat-driven, but they have a similar soundscape.

I think part of what I find appealing about these tracks are the lo-fi/hauntological aspect. It's electronic, but it sounds like they're using mic'ed amps and spring reverbs, so they have a very 70s Sci-fi weirdness to them. If anyone had other recommendations in this vein, I would be interested in hearing suggestions.

You know what, on second liste, that Roger Davy record isn't much lik Musik Von Harmonia, at all.

I've been finding the No UFO's release on public information = mind controls the flood, has some very Harmonia sequences.

eight months pass...

I'm starting to warm up to Cluster. Zuckerzeit still sounds to me like 'Musik Von', but incomplete. I tried going back through old Tangerine Dream and found most of it pretty drawn out and tedious, but I would love to find more stuff in the vein of Musik Von Harmonia. Was anyone else using rhythm boxes this far back? I guess Kraftwerk was.

I should explore more Eno. I think my main criticism of Eno stuff is that it's usually in the Ionian mode, just straightforward, typical western scales. It sounds like his Ionian style dominates the Eno/Harmonia and Eno/Cluster stuff too.

'On the Run' by Pink Floyd just came to mind as being Harmonia/Cluster-esque.

Cluster '71 and Cluster II are highlights in my book. I enjoy Zuckerzeit's pop aesthetic, but always find myself drawn to the way-more spaced-out, alien textures of '71 and II.
