I don't think there is anything wrong with her. Maybe normal for the times.

So glad this is back. Nothing like watching 2 hours of television where almost nothing in particular happens.

guys real talk all the black applicants with dusty springfield playing had me trying to figure out wtf was going on and sending me into major film theory conniption fits

You clearly have never had rape sex in the way i phrased it if you have to qualify it.

Waxahachie Swap (Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved), Monday, 26 March 2012 05:50 (2 years ago) Permalink

I have no problem with that burn.

Waxahachie Swap (Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved), Monday, 26 March 2012 05:50 (2 years ago) Permalink

Also that was Kimmy Robertson, right?

Waxahachie Swap (Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved), Monday, 26 March 2012 05:54 (2 years ago) Permalink

I watched the first season and never got around to the rest. Do I really need to watch three seasons or can I just jump in to S5?

Kiarostami bag (milo z), Monday, 26 March 2012 05:56 (2 years ago) Permalink

You could probably get away with skipping season 2. But watch them all honestly. It'd be like skipping to the middle of Infinite Jest or something.

Nicholas Pokémon (silby), Monday, 26 March 2012 05:58 (2 years ago) Permalink

alternately, you could stare at a glass of whiskey in low light for a couple hours

Fozzy Osbourne (contenderizer), Monday, 26 March 2012 06:25 (2 years ago) Permalink

dangerously close to something I'd do w/o Mad Men tbh

Kiarostami bag (milo z), Monday, 26 March 2012 06:28 (2 years ago) Permalink

let me rephrase: I can start Justified or Breaking Bad from the beginning, or Mad Men from S2 on - which do I do?

Kiarostami bag (milo z), Monday, 26 March 2012 06:28 (2 years ago) Permalink

Justified is great, but not in the league of Mad Men or Breaking Bad imo. I think I slightly prefer MM to BB, but it could go either way. As the final season of Breaking Bad (broken up into two parts, mind) starts airing this year, you should probably go with that one. Mad Men has another two years after this one for you to catch up.

banana republic might have some trouble selling/marketing the 1966 stuff to its target audience. although it'll do fine in other places that don't capitalize on drabness.

Fwiw I would totally buy Joan's dress in this episode.

pete's old office is very telegenic. harry doesn't deserve those blue walls and that cool furniture.

ralphs vons williams (get bent), Monday, 26 March 2012 12:57 (2 years ago) Permalink

milo - at least start with season 3 of mad men which is the best to date. don't skip it. (i don't think skipping first two seasons is as big a deal.)

Harry giving Don the silver-tipped walking cane.
"Don Ameche has one!"

lolololol

Peppermint Patty Hearst (VegemiteGrrl), Monday, 26 March 2012 13:46 (2 years ago) Permalink

Honestly it took me a while to get used to the nothing-happening/significant glances thing after so long away.

And there were a couple of times where I was like, TWO HOURS of this? Really?

I love the show but jeeeeeeeeeeeeeez louise.

Peppermint Patty Hearst (VegemiteGrrl), Monday, 26 March 2012 13:47 (2 years ago) Permalink

This episode was hilarious!

Cuba Pudding, Jr. (jaymc), Monday, 26 March 2012 13:53 (2 years ago) Permalink

I loved how funny it was, I wasn't ready for any heavy drama at the beginning of the season. Also, I was happy with the lack of Betty Draper.

yeah for real

didn't do that much for me tbh but it's all setup anyway I guess

dmr, Monday, 26 March 2012 14:37 (2 years ago) Permalink

It was awfully slow

L'ennui, cette maladie de tous les (Michael White), Monday, 26 March 2012 14:46 (2 years ago) Permalink

Well slow is what we expect by now, no?

Nicholas Pokémon (silby), Monday, 26 March 2012 14:51 (2 years ago) Permalink

i was riveted. i don't even notice the slowness on this show; i think my brain adapted several seasons ago.

ralphs vons williams (get bent), Monday, 26 March 2012 14:54 (2 years ago) Permalink

Oh Harry.

Yeah no kidding, what's his deal? Other than apparently being a wife-swapping libertine whenever he's out of the office.

Nicholas Pokémon (silby), Monday, 26 March 2012 15:12 (2 years ago) Permalink

He's slimmed down a little in the time off, right?

Johnny Fever, Monday, 26 March 2012 15:20 (2 years ago) Permalink

I don't know why, but it struck me funny that Duck had five different contacts in Don's rolodex.

Johnny Fever, Monday, 26 March 2012 15:22 (2 years ago) Permalink

can't wait til they write Freddy Mercury out of this show like they did with Betty

Harry and Pete are like two sides of a pathetic coin; Harry's the passive pathetic guy, and Pete's the aggressive pathetic guy.

I can't decide who I enjoy more, but both of them give me so much secondhand embarrassment, it's just great to watch

Peppermint Patty Hearst (VegemiteGrrl), Monday, 26 March 2012 15:42 (2 years ago) Permalink

I love Pete these days.

I wish to incorporate disco into my small business (chap), Monday, 26 March 2012 15:43 (2 years ago) Permalink

I kind of wish he'd taken it outside with Roger. I knew he wouldn't because it's not his steez AT ALL, but it would have been great to have seen a sidewalk dustup between them.

Peppermint Patty Hearst (VegemiteGrrl), Monday, 26 March 2012 15:46 (2 years ago) Permalink

Fingers crossed that it's still coming.

Megan is so ridiculously pretty but I still get the BWAHAHAH FREDDY MERCURY giggles when she flashes her choppers
