I wonder if you will agree with me that this movie contains the best human shield sequence of the decade.

the plot twist was pretty good, but then again, i am always easily surprised by plot twists (eg. 'the village')

Well, cheap + air conditioning = I wouldn't care how bad it was.

I've been thinking about you guys without air conditioning the past couple of weeks.

I would like to have 1,000 drinks next week. Maybe I'll be able to make it up. (Someone has to stop me before I get to drink 995, though.)

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 20 August 2008 19:21 (fifteen years ago) link

Hi Dere, I've been looking forward to your visit ever since you told us about it!

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 20 August 2008 19:21 (fifteen years ago) link

I will not be in MN next week ;_;

Though you know...I wonder if there's some weird cheap random last minute LA/MN flight.

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 20 August 2008 19:21 (fifteen years ago) link

i'm not the knowitall guy i swear you guys; i just enjoy the world and want to know about it.

i wonder who you met, remy. i feel like i work with only girls now

jergins, Wednesday, 20 August 2008 19:22 (fifteen years ago) link

Meantime, this:

last night i met a guy who worked w. jergins. he said jergins was a very nice guy who 'basically knew everything about everything' and i said 'yeah, he's a sharp cookie' and the guy said 'he is even more than that. he is like one of those blue tins with a hundred cookies inside, the kind that people bring back from traveling to holland.'

= the greatest compliment ever.

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 20 August 2008 19:22 (fifteen years ago) link

Ned, GET HERE. jergins, too, especially if you are like those cookies!

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 20 August 2008 19:22 (fifteen years ago) link

Pick a day and place and let me know, basically any time between sunday and when the republicans kick off. Transit directions from the Xcel centre would help too.

you can all decide if I should be banned from I love style.

Ned, if you can magic yourself to MN, bring flan.

Ed, Wednesday, 20 August 2008 19:23 (fifteen years ago) link

No flan, no credibility?

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 20 August 2008 19:23 (fifteen years ago) link

The flan IS that good, really.

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 20 August 2008 19:24 (fifteen years ago) link

jërg -

he did not mean you were a knowitall, he was paying you a compliment.

i don't remember his name, except he works @ same place you do and is tall, a little chunky, with floppy hair and two young kids @ home, also he pissed off his wife by buying himself one ticket to nick cave on his upcoming anniversary.

remy bean, Wednesday, 20 August 2008 19:25 (fifteen years ago) link

Sadly, cheapest option seems to be around $360 -- not unaffordable but not feasible given other planned expenses.

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 20 August 2008 19:26 (fifteen years ago) link

xpost oh yeah that guy's awesome. he's always at the record store pulling down old used indie stuff i'd totally forgotten about, rockin out with two little babies at home.

jergins, Wednesday, 20 August 2008 19:26 (fifteen years ago) link

When will Ned visit our fair Twin Cities? ;_;

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 20 August 2008 19:28 (fifteen years ago) link

I must rob a bank.

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 20 August 2008 19:31 (fifteen years ago) link

omg that dude's desc of jergs is way better than when i asked lingy what jergs and lxy were like and he was like 'uh, they're cool'.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 20 August 2008 19:36 (fifteen years ago) link

i just read about that house! it sounds pretty amazing; the owner described it as a constant work in progress, weathering all the storms etc.

would be a great place to party

jergins, Wednesday, 20 August 2008 19:37 (fifteen years ago) link

HI DERE, don't tease!

tehresa, Wednesday, 20 August 2008 19:39 (fifteen years ago) link

narragansett bay, rhode island. my friend's dad drove a boat launch for a living, shuttling people to their sailboats from the marina. he had befriended the owners, who invited him to a costume party. he wanted to drink, so he invited his daughter (my friend, jw's ex-girlfriend) who invited a half-dozen of us. we crashed the party and sat on the roof. the place is like a labyrinth inside: rooms cut into rock, floors at two dozen different height, secret chambers and doors, etc...

my ex-, jon's ex, jon's ex's sister, and two other friends played a three hour game of manhunt inside, running parallel but seperate to the proper party. finally our host's daughter did too good a job of hiding, slipped on a wet rock and fell in the water. she was fine, but i jumped in to rescue her just-in-case, and was a hero for the better part of three minutes before everybody realized i just wanted to go swimming.

remy bean, Wednesday, 20 August 2008 19:40 (fifteen years ago) link

omg that sounds awesome
