haha the gunplay mixtape is mixed sooo poorly, it makes you wonder if they even try and play their own music loud in the car

otm. can't listen to dj holiday tapes in the car at all

Man, that new KRIT is pretty weak.

Spottie_Ottie_Dope, Wednesday, 14 March 2012 04:34 (2 years ago) Permalink

yeah it is very boring

Peace (peaceful) (The Brainwasher), Wednesday, 14 March 2012 04:37 (2 years ago) Permalink

good to hear about the Action Bronson. liked Dr Lecter and "Well Done" (w/ Statik Selectah) last year.

Bo Jackson Overdrive, Wednesday, 14 March 2012 04:39 (2 years ago) Permalink

the action bronson is basically the only thing i've listened to for the past day and a half

3hunn O))) (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 14 March 2012 04:39 (2 years ago) Permalink

can't bring myself to listen to an action bronson album, everything about him is so corny

though i'm sure it's good or whatever

Peace (peaceful) (The Brainwasher), Wednesday, 14 March 2012 04:42 (2 years ago) Permalink

ha i don't know

3hunn O))) (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 14 March 2012 04:43 (2 years ago) Permalink

i def get where you're coming from and i wasn't sold on the guy at all until very recently but i think this album is way too fun and hilarious to be corny

3hunn O))) (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 14 March 2012 04:44 (2 years ago) Permalink

Def a fun listen, he is a good look for the boom-bap scene. I kind of want to dislike him but just can't.

Spottie_Ottie_Dope, Wednesday, 14 March 2012 04:44 (2 years ago) Permalink

i wanted to like him but never really thought he'd transcend his very obvious influences but idk dude just murders it this entire album

3hunn O))) (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 14 March 2012 04:45 (2 years ago) Permalink

i dont understand how anyone could dislike action bronson

⚓ (gr8080), Wednesday, 14 March 2012 04:46 (2 years ago) Permalink

oh i could totally see it... for one he sounds exactly like ghostface killah

3hunn O))) (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 14 March 2012 04:47 (2 years ago) Permalink

You sure it wasn't when he teamed up with RiffRaff that sold you?

Spottie_Ottie_Dope, Wednesday, 14 March 2012 04:47 (2 years ago) Permalink

i think there's a very fine line between having obvious talent as a writer and being a compelling, singular rap artist -- plenty of rappers from new york have grappled with this and failed

3hunn O))) (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 14 March 2012 04:47 (2 years ago) Permalink

okay i wasn't going to say it BUT

3hunn O))) (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 14 March 2012 04:47 (2 years ago) Permalink

"very recently" was coded language in that regard

3hunn O))) (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 14 March 2012 04:48 (2 years ago) Permalink

Bo Jackson Overdrive, Wednesday, 14 March 2012 04:48 (2 years ago) Permalink

bronson apparently has an album with harry fraud already in the can which has shot up pretty close to my most anticipated albums of 2012 list

3hunn O))) (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 14 March 2012 04:48 (2 years ago) Permalink

Def that^

Spottie_Ottie_Dope, Wednesday, 14 March 2012 04:50 (2 years ago) Permalink

also i guess one w/ statik selektah too but that's prob where the ny boom bap thing becomes a bit too much for me

3hunn O))) (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 14 March 2012 04:51 (2 years ago) Permalink

the "sounds like ghostface" thing stopped mattering to me after like the 4th AB track i listened to

Spottie_Ottie_Dope, Wednesday, 14 March 2012 06:46 (2 years ago) Permalink

that's kinda boring :(. Mystikal even sounds lethargic.

Bo Jackson Overdrive, Wednesday, 14 March 2012 06:50 (2 years ago) Permalink

krit's getting better as a producer but he has turned into a deeply uninteresting rapper imo. i still like his voice a lot so he's best used at this point just dropping a hook or something a la "we buy gold", which is by far my favorite song connected with him this year. xps

The Reverend, Wednesday, 14 March 2012 09:23 (2 years ago) Permalink

Agree with that. With the right mix of guests the album should still turn out pretty good

Number None, Wednesday, 14 March 2012 10:16 (2 years ago) Permalink

or he could just do a whole record with Ball and G

Number None, Wednesday, 14 March 2012 10:18 (2 years ago) Permalink

the new wiz tape is cool... beats by cardo, lex luger, harry fraud, jake one and rob holladay (the guy who did love love vs hate love !) among others...

sisilafami, Wednesday, 14 March 2012 12:59 (2 years ago) Permalink

this Rich Kidz tape is real whatever, if you'd told me it was Diggy Simmons i woulda believed you

― some dude, Tuesday, March 13, 2012 10:41 AM (1 hour ago) Bookmark

i mean fair enough, they are kids. but the difference is that diggy cuts a check to jeremih for hooks while rich kidz write a bunch of em on their own, all of which are better than whatever ppl are getting from jeremih

i think i just want to blame drake for the very earnest melodic direction a lot of swag rap has taken in the past year or two, it's a really unpleasant combination to me

some dude, Wednesday, 14 March 2012 13:10 (2 years ago) Permalink

wait, is sarge taking shots at jeremih?

been to lots of college and twitter (k3vin k.), Wednesday, 14 March 2012 13:14 (2 years ago) Permalink

been to lots of college and twitter (k3vin k.), Wednesday, 14 March 2012 13:14 (2 years ago) Permalink

a hoy hoy, Wednesday, 14 March 2012 13:23 (2 years ago) Permalink

neither

The Reverend, Wednesday, 14 March 2012 13:31 (2 years ago) Permalink

it's basically jeremiah with out the "uh" at the end

some dude, Wednesday, 14 March 2012 13:46 (2 years ago) Permalink

i'm taking shots at jeremih as a hired out hook singer, sure

3hunn O))) (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 14 March 2012 14:15 (2 years ago) Permalink

the MYSTIKAL COMEBACK being sullied by 2012 YMCMB is a pretty fucking shitty bait-and-switch

3hunn O))) (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 14 March 2012 14:16 (2 years ago) Permalink

okay this khalifa mixtape has a song with rick ross and amber rose

3hunn O))) (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 14 March 2012 16:13 (2 years ago) Permalink

3hunn O))) (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 14 March 2012 16:15 (2 years ago) Permalink

3hunn O))) (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 14 March 2012 16:17 (2 years ago) Permalink

is it good?

konybrony (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Wednesday, 14 March 2012 17:36 (2 years ago) Permalink

Im like 5 minutes in, idk yet. Just him w/out a backing band.

Spottie_Ottie_Dope, Wednesday, 14 March 2012 17:38 (2 years ago) Permalink

Crowd seems lame.

Spottie_Ottie_Dope, Wednesday, 14 March 2012 17:39 (2 years ago) Permalink

jay-z is the only person who i'd watch a live show of (maybe flocka) because he and his band are so good together but if he's not playing w/o a band...

3hunn O))) (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 14 March 2012 18:32 (2 years ago) Permalink

i saw jay once live at this DJ hero event and, you know, after all the clowning we do about him now and shit it was fucking unreal amazing, he can just run through like a solid hour+ of classic after classic after classic, and he works well with his band to do cool things w/arrangements and bringing the energy up and down

then drugged out relapse era eminem followed looking like a sweaty ghost in a hoodie, so sad
