El Rey was a bit of a letdown after the run of increasingly great Cinerama albums and Take Fountain. The new songs seemed to get a very good reaction at the Glasgow gig just after Christmas.

That's... really uncomfortable to look at.

Really liking Valentina, blows away El Rey. It's Gedge's most upbeat album since TWP's mid-90s era and with Graeme Ramsay they eventually found a guitarist as inventive as Simon Cleave. Shame he's off already.

Yeah, this album rocks.
