Besdies The Men, what's good of the recent SB stuff?

Walter Galt, Saturday, 10 March 2012 22:58 (four years ago) Permalink

the pop 1280 album is pretty good, and i think the war single is great

Love the latest Amen Dunes LP. It's pure horrorshow in places.

i've grown to love the new pop. 1280 - so scuzzy and nasty

Sounds like the Slug Guts have been enjoying the first two Psychedelic Furs LP's.

Stupid question: do all of SB's vinyl releases include a download, or is it just some releases/more recent ones? I've been trying to get an answer from the label, but I'm not sure my email is getting through.

Aw :(

Thanks for the info, though- does anyone know if the Moon Duo remix collection and the last Zola Jesus LP do?

Uh they're doing the Eraserhead soundtrack on vinyl, that is.

awesome

sleeve, Wednesday, 1 August 2012 13:36 (four years ago) Permalink

I don't know why I even bought that Men album; it seemed more like something I *should* have liked rather than something I actually did like. I get whiplash from how different every track is. And I usually like albums that have thematic and genre variety, but something about it didn't work for me.

global tetrahedron, Wednesday, 1 August 2012 15:25 (four years ago) Permalink

THIRTY FIVE DOLLARS for the Eraserhead LP/7", jesus fucking christ.

sleeve, Thursday, 2 August 2012 19:14 (four years ago) Permalink

$25 it says.

oh good, I was looking at an Experimedia update... that's quite a markup!

sleeve, Thursday, 2 August 2012 19:23 (four years ago) Permalink

it also says "temporarily out of stock"?

sleeve, Thursday, 2 August 2012 19:24 (four years ago) Permalink

Maybe just because it hasn't been officially released yet?

There are a couple of duds on Killed By Deathrock but they don't kill the vibe.

what should I get?

flopson, Saturday, 3 December 2016 23:41 (four days ago) Permalink

the Psychic Ills album from this year is good, it's like alt-country Spacemen 3

flopson, Saturday, 3 December 2016 23:42 (four days ago) Permalink

i'm a big fan of the killed by deathrock comps, destruction unit and pop. 1280

i also like the first holydrug couple album though i'm not 100% sold on the second

my favorite of all though is amen dunes

the late great, Saturday, 3 December 2016 23:47 (four days ago) Permalink

i also agree with you psychic ills are great ("hazed dream" is my favorite)

not that familiar w the rest of the catalog

the late great, Saturday, 3 December 2016 23:48 (four days ago) Permalink

amen dunes "through donkey jaw" is an essential album imo

the late great, Saturday, 3 December 2016 23:50 (four days ago) Permalink

Cool, i copped kdb vol 2 (loved vol 1) and got the newest Destruction Unit. drummer of my old noisy rock band used to rave about them; i don't listen to much music like that anymore but u never know

flopson, Saturday, 3 December 2016 23:57 (four days ago) Permalink

Love all the Follokzoid albums. Maybe III > II > I for right now?
