"Doo Dah Doo Doo" stands up pretty well without the visuals.
"have a glass of wine...it's ok kids, I won't tell."

"Time Travel" through "Petite Feet" is the most economic use of 4 minutes I've heard all year. Great job!

Z S, Tuesday, 10 June 2008 01:19 (4 years ago) Permalink

Dammit, I already blew my wad. Now I can't even mention "Hamburgers and Hotdogs"!

Z S, Tuesday, 10 June 2008 01:22 (4 years ago) Permalink

Oh, no. I had no idea about this. Everyone is going to hate me even more now that all of the annoying songs are collected on one compact disc.

The first time it ever occurred to me to rate a song on iTunes: "Horse and Buggy Ride". 5 stars, obv.

has anyone hated on this show in this thread yet?

hmm, well that's one.

i am still really surprised to see such (near) universal acclaim for something that is half-the-time hilarious and half-the-time fucking wretched.

Will M., Friday, 20 June 2008 18:31 (4 years ago) Permalink

oh god i heard "sports!" out somewhere and it kind of blew my mind

sleep, Friday, 20 June 2008 19:02 (4 years ago) Permalink

I'm kind of surprised to see any acclaim for this at all. It's perfectly formulated for my sense of humor, but it seems like the sort of thing that maybe three people in the world would actually enjoy. I honestly can't imagine recommending it to anyone.

This is sort of correct. But shit, the half the time that it's working makes me lol harder than anything else on tv, except maybe for Mr. Show.

YES.
This show works on so many levels and even when it doesn't it just does. Always a win.

I hate how shiny his face is, I'm torn between pity and fear for this character. I love the asexual news casters and all the random ads in between. EVERYTHING.

Creeztophair, Saturday, 21 June 2008 01:12 (4 years ago) Permalink

even though everyone who likes this show besides me is an idiot like VeronaInTheClub who doesn't actually get it like i do, it's my favorite show

iiiijjjj, Saturday, 21 June 2008 01:28 (4 years ago) Permalink

I wish that the one scene that had burned itself into my head wasn't the monumentally unfunny hacky sack one because there is some great stuff, I can only ever just rmeember that fucking hacky sack unfunny shit though.

Will M., Saturday, 21 June 2008 21:48 (4 years ago) Permalink

Yeah, but right after the hacky sack scene is the part where the loser of the tournament goes

"....sigh...dammit..............goddammnit....sigh....dammit..........AWESOME!"

which is pretty much one of the greatest things I've ever seen. IN MY ENTIRE LIFE SO FAR.

Fuck yeah I would be on the street team!

JUST GIVE ME THAT CHANCE

Z S, Monday, 23 June 2008 05:24 (4 years ago) Permalink

Yeah, the coda of the Hackysack scene, with C-Boy walking depressed through the surf, is amazing!

I could use less of the "bloody balls" and shit-type jokes I guess, but I'll take them if they come with the incredible awkward miscommunication/ hallucinatory cable access stuff.

New season (3!) starts July 27h!

SHRIMP AND WHITE WINE

cutty, Monday, 23 June 2008 19:30 (4 years ago) Permalink

ok, i agree that the post-hacksack thing is great. but seriously. the part before it? awful.

can't get behind the shrimp/white wine stuff iirc.

3 months pass...

Eric Wareheim recently directed this video for Flying Lotus's track 'Parisian Goldfish'. The results are undeniably in keeping with T&EASGJ's humour stylings, and definitely not safe for work (or possibly for viewing anywhere, ever).

It's the best thing I've seen in months.

Like some pairs of pants, this pair of videos gets better and better each time you wear and/or watch them!

When I had the flu for a few days earlier this summer, discovering those videos helped ease my recovery.

Great job!

I love Zack, but otherwise don't get much out of these.

This, however:

it was terrible imo. only good bit was good cop/bad cop with that guy

I was laughing pretty hard @ the intro, but yeah, they've had better.

bad episode, good intro

Your body is a spiderland (polyphonic), Tuesday, 2 March 2010 17:25 (3 years ago) Permalink

As I've said before, I'm continually shocked that Tim and Eric fans even exist. I love the show unreservedly, though. It's the little things, like how they kept showing the clip of the dude in the audience who wasn't even really laughing, that crack my shit up.

I recently (and reluctantly) introduced my SO to the show and, to my shock and amusement, she seems to love it as much as I do. This might just be the real thing!

Yeah, the whole appeal of TAESGJ is the subtleties, facial twitches/tics, pauses, etc.

about half the material from the first ep was in the live show and boy do they suck live.

forksclovetofu, Tuesday, 2 March 2010 18:45 (3 years ago) Permalink

are you saying this isn't the pinnacle of comedy?

shit doesn't rly translate well to a live act w/o all the low budgetry video shit

is it? I have heard such mixed things on it but I would guess that a lot of the negative reviews are from those who just don't like Tim & Eric style humor (which is a lot more understandable than people like me who do like it)

its basically a cross between the master and girls and ends up better than both, but then again I'm only like halfway thru it and its playing in the background as I type

Greg Turkington... I totally did not make the connection! Of course that's Neil Hamburger, right? He is so so reserved on "On Cinema, At The Cinema" I didn't even realize it.
