Oops just remembered Benny already tracklisted 1st week of these, oh well.

Much thanks for that Tracer! "Lovers" is a big tune, very nice, but I can see Funkystepz's point about it not fitting in with their newer aesthetic. Maxsin mentioned on Target's show that they make something like 10 new tracks per WEEK! I can't imagine all the gems of theirs that will never get a proper release.

Those 1xtra mixes are big! Hopefully Funkystepz put up the final DJ Target guest mix on their soundcloud. It's an instrumental mix, and like the others, it's really good. It has a couple of new instrumental tracks as well. With all the new instrumentals they've premiered in these mixes, like XTC, Radar, Mondo Bizarro etc., they have easily enough material to put out a killer EP every 2-3 months throughout 2012. They get plenty of love here and on dissensus, but I wonder when they will start to get some attention from the mainstream?

I have just discovered "Circles" (I know, very very belatedly) and it is making me very happy, not just a perfect house track but a brilliant pop song.

did anyone download the remix of 'climax' that was on their soundcloud for a while? i came home looking forward to it after a weekend of only phone internet access, and then it was GONE.

I recorded the Climax remix before it got taken down. As Benny mentioned over on dissensus, they've hit this sweet spot between UK Funky and UK Garage, their recent remixes (and everything else they've done) has been so good. "warrior" is such a banger but i always prefer their remixes to their instrumental tunes (same goes for ill blu too)

Funkystepz have mentioned in interviews that they want to expand beyond UK Funky in 2012 and do Miami Bass, R&B, hip-hop, etc.

Thanks, trace and rtc! I do hope as FS evolve and expand into other areas that they don't completely abandon their signature bubbly, hyper-colorful, intricately convoluted Funky/Garage sound, because there's no one I'm aware of to fill that void.

Yes! Love that Buju Banton remix, brilliant that one, as are they all, including the Rudekid remix they just put out. I wouldn't think the Weeknd (or Bruno Mars for that matter) would be the best material for them to remix, but I think they all work, love the dark garage vibe of those. Ridiculous how many good tunes Funkystepz have amassed.
