haha the mole comment was hilarious.

i also liked the comment, "judgment is the gluten of thoughts" (or something like that??)

jane used to drive me a little bit nuts, but this season she has been really great!

"I signed us up for a mini-triathlon, so if anyone asks...we're dwarves."

Also, just remembered when Dave walked into the restaurant dressed like Freddy.

A+ episode imo

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 1 March 2012 18:31 (twelve years ago) link

I like how the Max-with-two-identical-stuffed-animals gag is becoming a runner this season (cubs, horses).

Let A Man Come In And Do The Cop Porn (Tarfumes The Escape Goat), Thursday, 1 March 2012 18:35 (twelve years ago) link

A+

Man, you guys really make me want to like this show. Not sure I'm up to it though.

EveningStar (Sund4r), Saturday, 3 March 2012 04:46 (twelve years ago) link

At first I thought I was overrating it due to Community withdrawal (they share producers, and a few writers). But now I think I'm digging it on its own terms, particularly the Wayans/Coupe juggernaut.

Tarfumes The Escape Goat, Saturday, 3 March 2012 04:56 (twelve years ago) link

this is p much the best show on rn

the stuff of slumber frights (Lamp), Saturday, 3 March 2012 07:01 (twelve years ago) link

Wow. Either this show suddenly became great in its last two episodes or I'm really ILE-impressionable.

EveningStar (Sund4r), Friday, 9 March 2012 05:47 (twelve years ago) link

Actually thought the last episode was one of the weaker ones this season. I think you're just ILE-impressionable, or maybe we all develop our H.E. (or the Coupe/Wayans) love at different stages.

stay in school if you want to kiw (Gukbe), Friday, 9 March 2012 05:48 (twelve years ago) link

yah the most recent episode was kinda lol free but then they should leave the lame 80s pop culture homages to lesser coms imo

Lamp, Friday, 9 March 2012 05:54 (twelve years ago) link

There were lolz when Wayans was being convinced that he rented Mamma Mia, but yeah, the scavenger hunt plotline didn't really produce the lolz.

stay in school if you want to kiw (Gukbe), Friday, 9 March 2012 05:55 (twelve years ago) link

oh, and Wayans playing the guilt card with his shrugging.

stay in school if you want to kiw (Gukbe), Friday, 9 March 2012 05:56 (twelve years ago) link

Oh, the scavenger hunt subplot kind of sucked but I liked the whole Kerkovich mindfuck thing. Was pretty into "Cocktails and Dreams" though.

EveningStar (Sund4r), Friday, 9 March 2012 06:02 (twelve years ago) link

always good to see richard edson

j., Friday, 9 March 2012 06:06 (twelve years ago) link

Yeah, I did like that.

EveningStar (Sund4r), Friday, 9 March 2012 06:07 (twelve years ago) link

Ooh this sounds great. Off to check it out.

Nathalie (stevienixed), Friday, 9 March 2012 09:07 (twelve years ago) link

this show is great, but i find myself sad bc there wasn't a new ep of suburgatory this week...

yeah i basically never need to see any tip of the hat to john hughes movies ever for the rest of my life

HalfNelson (some dude), Friday, 9 March 2012 14:29 (twelve years ago) link

idk, that was pretty awful and played out, but "the Kerkovich thing" saved the episode

stan this sick bunt (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Friday, 9 March 2012 14:37 (twelve years ago) link

yeah i wasn't dissing the episode on the whole, thought it was not their best but still pretty funny

HalfNelson (some dude), Friday, 9 March 2012 15:15 (twelve years ago) link

this. Never found Hughes to be the least bit hat-tip worthy. This episode had its moments (as usual, those with Jane and Brad), but I found it kind of flat.

Casey Wilson's delivery on "My plates never grew together" was A+, though.

oh my god, every episode should be Penny's birthday

thuggish ruggish Brahms (DJP), Thursday, 15 March 2012 02:02 (twelve years ago) link

I didn't remember until I saw Dave's high school ex that the pilot was Penny's birthday too. Well played, Happy Endings.

Mary Tyler Moore Tyler Moore Moore Moore.

I don't remember the exchange verbatim, but...

"Your freakish upper body strength."
"Like a maaaaaaan."

best show on tv

Lamp, Thursday, 15 March 2012 03:04 (twelve years ago) link

could even stomach alex quoting extensively from an 80s movie and all the jokes that were just weird voices cuz the whole thing was so smoothly put together and lulzsome

Lamp, Thursday, 15 March 2012 03:05 (twelve years ago) link

This episode was str8 classic

just sayin, Saturday, 17 March 2012 11:20 (twelve years ago) link

GREAT EPISODE! Also, the last bit with Brad and Jane walking through the lobby of their building in slow mo while "It Was a Good Day" played was pitch perfect.

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 22 March 2012 02:01 (twelve years ago) link

thought that was a weak ending personally but good ep

Only one episode left after tonight. Don't go away, Happy Endings! The fall is too long to wait!

Hey - The Waitress.

OWLS 3D (R Baez), Thursday, 29 March 2012 02:37 (twelve years ago) link

Didn't think tonight's ep was stellar or anything, but yeah...The Waitress!

Also, who's the guy that plays Max and Dave's landlord? I know I've seen him in lots of things.

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 29 March 2012 02:40 (twelve years ago) link

Megan mccarthy's irl husband and air marshal John in bridesmaids

New to this show. Was really impressed by the accelerating action of the thing. I'm pretty sure I'm now a fan.

OWLS 3D (R Baez), Thursday, 29 March 2012 02:49 (twelve years ago) link

it took me like 10 minutes to recognize the waitress, i'm slippin'

as an old three's company fan i admit, they got the cheap pop from me every time it was mentioned

Nhex, Thursday, 29 March 2012 02:50 (twelve years ago) link

Only one episode left after tonight

cruel cruel summer

for some reason the best lol was 'thats so janet' for me, idk if this was the greatest episode or anything but still so many good jokes

oh n/m best joke was 'i love that about me' maybe

Lamp, Thursday, 29 March 2012 02:51 (twelve years ago) link

also that synchro action from wayans and casey when coupe was doing her lie bit was pretty great

Nhex, Thursday, 29 March 2012 02:57 (twelve years ago) link

the landlord also recently played one half of a gay couple that was friends with Cam and Mitchell on Modern Family

stan this sick bunt (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Thursday, 29 March 2012 03:54 (twelve years ago) link

kind of love that Max is the only person on TV who can really pull off that "ghost protes" line.

stay in school if you want to kiw (Gukbe), Thursday, 29 March 2012 17:57 (twelve years ago) link

Loved Penny-as-a-child's "A-mah-zing."
