tickets should just be auctioned

artists would make more money
people camp out in front of the apple store to buy iphones - but not for concert tickets. welcome to the future
― geeta, Wednesday, 22 February 2012 20:45 (twelve years ago) link
Anagram, I totally agree. People should have to sweat a little for the really difficult-to-get tickets. I hope the Iron Maiden shows in May don't have the same ridiculous crunch/failure rate--although given that they're playing small arenas, I doubt that...

iron maiden at MoMA = urgent and key
― geeta, Wednesday, 22 February 2012 20:54 (twelve years ago) link
apple creates reasons for people to camp out so it'll get on the news. some random show isn't gonna get media attention if some people are camping out all night, so it'd just be meaningless inconvenience.

tempted to call BS on the 30 ticket story
or if true, good luck rolling up to the will call to claim those

if it's true there's no way the person won't get caught since they are blabbing so much about it...so at least there's that.

So apparently the ShowClix CEO posted a letter of apology about yesterday here. As everyone is reading it, it's also down as well. There's just a 404 note and this image and caption instead:

We looked, but couldn't find the page or file you requested on our servers. Our engineers are rather bright people, too, so we're not really sure how this could've happened. Sorry about that! Let us know if you continue to find yourself here.

Wow, that's v likely the most sincere/informative/responsibility-taking apology letter I've ever read from a company tbh

wait a second..
"Increase your odds of seeing Kraftwerk at MoMA. Create an animated GIF from one of these sites."
the link points to a google search for "animated gif online". does that mean i have to use a crappy automatic gif maker? can't i just use photoshop?
― 1986 Olive Garden (Z S), Monday, 12 March 2012 21:03 (twelve years ago) link
aw man, and it doesn't even matter if the animation is good or not.the quality of the gif doesn't matter.
The official rules say "GIFs will not be judged", and then go on to talk about a random drawing for the winners. All that submitting a gif gets you is 2 chances to win instead of 1, essentially. So you could submit a flashing text gif that says "KRAFTWERK" and it counts as much as a 400-frame epic journey through the pulsating electronic veins of Ralf & Florian, basically.

Weird, I guess the gallery of images is at the bottom of the link above (http://www.vwgifaway.com/). One of mine just showed up there (a really crappy text one I barfed out in a few minutes). But so far it's the only one that's related to Kraftwerk whatsoever?
