lolol that name is like the ultimate parody band name for that whole scene

haha yeah it's intentional for sure, one of the main dudes is the booking agent at the tr1ple r0ck soc1al club which is the bar that the D4 dudes own in mpls

cool thx, how was doomsday student

I GUESS THAT CINNABON GETTIN EATEN (Edward III), Tuesday, 21 February 2012 19:45 (2 years ago) Permalink

Doomsday Student slayed. Three friends and I agreed that they are the best of the post-Arab on Radar-bands. We also agreed that we miss Arab on Radar.

sarahell, Tuesday, 21 February 2012 19:49 (2 years ago) Permalink

yeah not to rub it in or anything but that AoR reunion was phenomenal, it's too bad those freaks can't get along

I GUESS THAT CINNABON GETTIN EATEN (Edward III), Tuesday, 21 February 2012 20:34 (2 years ago) Permalink

haha, yeah, that's what I heard from other East Coast friends

sarahell, Tuesday, 21 February 2012 20:46 (2 years ago) Permalink

but i also want to put in a plug for the local opener at the Retox/Doomsday Student show -- they are a newish band called Stillsuit, all-female, a bit no-wavey, really cool.

sarahell, Tuesday, 21 February 2012 20:48 (2 years ago) Permalink

I love Stillsuit! Their tape is so fucking rad! I caught em in Socal with Rind. Got some gnarly photos of them, too. I actually have a lot of underground noise/punk photos on my artist page, if you guys wanna check em out! http://www.facebook.com/pages/Graphic-Garrett/302014879820158

This is the home of the official Lightning Bolt Practice of the Month club. Probably more like Practice of the Every 6 Months Club, but the plan is to post some of our best home recorded jams for your listening pleasure, or displeasure.

Trip Maker, Friday, 24 February 2012 15:49 (2 years ago) Permalink

best new (relatively) hardcore I've heard in a minute - LONG PIGS from Brooklyn who are just complete OTT chaos on their 7" - there is a lot of that kind of thing right now I suppose but they do it really powerfully

I saw them the other night with Surgeons, Nasa Space Universe, Crazy Band, Forever Baby, BRANES, The Garden, The Coltranes, and Meow Twins. Everyone but Crazy Band and Meow Twins fucking ANNIHILATED the evening. Meow Twins were good, but not as apeshit crazy as everyone else. Man, that show was a test of endurance.

Izzy Pod, Tuesday, 6 March 2012 07:43 (2 years ago) Permalink

Such a great set.

I'm the one wearing the tin foil balaclava. Everyone was instructed to wear their foil
