I was out to lunch with my family yesterday, and the TV was playing in the background. It looked like a press conference, but I couldn't figure out the context. Why is this white dude addressing an all-black audience? Is that white dude Kevin Costner? Nah, can't be. Why would Kevin Costner be addressing an all-black audience?
Of course, it was Kevin Costner, whose presence made sense once I later learned the context.

idk i think that many years of addiction what constitutes friends gets twisted through a particular refractory index. everything gets modulated by addiction. everything gets swept into that particular economy. we all saw it in this case, how marriage and drugs were sortof a package deal. this always extends into everything. this is why its sad but i guess i'm glad for her sake it isn't crack that showed up on the toxicology report. crack is cheap. crack is wack.

holy crap was the bet awards tribute discussed elsewhere on ilm? i don't feel like i can finish watching it, but cissy houston sings, or wails, really, a version of "bridge over troubled water" where she changes the lyrics to past tense, viz.
