they're cute, but with trousers covering the top bit all you'd see is that weird toe.

Cowboy boots! 'Tooled'.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Friday, 29 October 2004 15:31 (nineteen years ago) link

Right, so with my semi-sensible sneakers sorted, we can move on to totally unsensible heels and things. How are these:

Oh sheesh there's also these, and they are on sale!

Are these worth £50? I do need some Wellingtons, but it's hard to find some that aren't either too farmer-y or too fancy.

New Pauls. No longer in my size, but someone else might like 'em? Or, in case I do find them, what d'you think?

Cathy, they're cute but overpirced by at least a tenner. Roxy, the second pair is excellent.

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 15:11 (nineteen years ago) link

I love the shape of those, Barms old thing, but they're what you'd wear to a track athlete's funeral.

Cathy, they have cheap-ass versions of those at New Look - go to a big one and have a rummage.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 15:26 (nineteen years ago) link

hey Pink, you say that's your friends place? I'm so there for a pair of Nike URLs - absolutely gorgeous but never really took off in the states, I found a load of size nines but no others in an outlet store and never thought I'd see any!

Porkpie (porkpie), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 15:36 (nineteen years ago) link

Thx, Liz, shape is good, but that colour is pretty unflattering. I gotta say, the current Paul S collections are disappointing overall.

You just put the letter i before the address, so it begins ihttp.

There were a lot of fancy wellies at Reading Festival and environs.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Wednesday, 3 November 2004 18:02 (nineteen years ago) link

i saw that there were a lot at glastonbury. Also I want a pair of Camper boots but i cant afford them! They've got some camper style in New look, but after looking at the real camper boots the new look ones dont seem so nice. i'm going to Shellys, Dolcis and Faith at the weekend hopefully!

Went shopping at the weekend, for reasonably sensible trainers. Bought these:

Yeah, it's a great shop! he loves his sneakers, so he'll sort you out with anything you need. Give him a call or an email if you have specific questions!

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 4 November 2004 09:07 (nineteen years ago) link

Those trainers are SEXX, Caitlin.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Thursday, 4 November 2004 09:58 (nineteen years ago) link

Wow, i love those trainers, how much? kickers do such good shoes!

imo (imo), Thursday, 4 November 2004 16:43 (nineteen years ago) link

These Campers are sooo nice, but £99.99!
http://www.schuhstore.co.uk/images/product/1407761450_lg.jpg
don't you just love them?

imo (imo), Thursday, 4 November 2004 16:47 (nineteen years ago) link

Wow, i love those trainers, how much?

Mine? I think they were £45.

(well, £44.99, natch)

caitlin (caitlin), Thursday, 4 November 2004 16:50 (nineteen years ago) link

i might get these:

http://www.pickyourshoes.com/images/shoes/dunk_sb_tweed_3.jpg

phil-two (phil-two), Friday, 5 November 2004 00:29 (nineteen years ago) link

phil, try and find the harris tweed ones with the big nike around the back, I've been looking for ages, and they're great

Porkpie (porkpie), Friday, 5 November 2004 09:01 (nineteen years ago) link

The harris tweed terminators are in size in the UK at the moment, although I am sure that's no help to Phil as it's in the UK & they are only women's sizes!

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Friday, 5 November 2004 09:13 (nineteen years ago) link

what? this is sexism.... or is it political correctness gone mad? I can't tell anymore

Porkpie (porkpie), Friday, 5 November 2004 09:23 (nineteen years ago) link

Heh, I think it's trying to be equal, as alot of the releases are in mens sizes only. I'll ask the size blokey if they stock the tweed terms in men's sizes if you like. Last time I spoke to him it was only womens though!
New size releases to get you dribbling!!

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Friday, 5 November 2004 09:33 (nineteen years ago) link

ah well! mmm lubberly decades!

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Friday, 5 November 2004 09:35 (nineteen years ago) link

You know people, your relentless trainer pr0n has made me want new ones. Feel free to suggest things that I can ask my mummy to get me for Christmas. Not a big fan of C!O!L!O!U!R!S! but a restrained combination that goes nicely with jeans would be good.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Friday, 5 November 2004 09:39 (nineteen years ago) link

some interesting Huaraches there, and are those some dodgy old Moabs on the bottom row? Top right = rowr

Porkpie (porkpie), Friday, 5 November 2004 09:41 (nineteen years ago) link

I don't like huraches or mowabbs tbh just not my thing at all. I like the delta force definitely. Not for me though.
What were tyou thinking Liz? girly trainers? black? white?

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Friday, 5 November 2004 10:15 (nineteen years ago) link

No no not black or white. I'm thinking brownish - see Caitlin's nice trainers above for the kind of shape I like - broadly Puma-ish. Not sure about velcro fastenings though - I'm a bit of a laces rockist.

Mmmmmm.

http://www.schuhstore.co.uk/images/product/3404266020_lg.jpg

Liz :x (Liz :x), Friday, 5 November 2004 10:43 (nineteen years ago) link

Not big into puma myself, but i like those.

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Friday, 5 November 2004 10:44 (nineteen years ago) link

that shape of shoe is getting old really quickly though isn't it?

x-post obv, but those white and blue pumas are exactly what I'm talking about. The Lacoste's are pretty cool though

Porkpie (porkpie), Friday, 5 November 2004 10:47 (nineteen years ago) link

Massive x-posts! Liz, lemme rectify: the Adidas Arosa boot comes in brown.

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Friday, 5 November 2004 10:51 (nineteen years ago) link

Nice pic, Pink, but the ones with headbands for straps will never be that cool.
You don't like vandals????? Each to their own I guess.

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Friday, 5 November 2004 10:54 (nineteen years ago) link

Speaking of Lacoste:

http://www.officeholdings.co.uk/images/shoes/24419060b.jpg

Liz :x (Liz :x), Friday, 5 November 2004 10:55 (nineteen years ago) link

They might be a bit chunky about the toe for a lady, though.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Friday, 5 November 2004 10:55 (nineteen years ago) link

I've seen a few local lassies wearing those pink and white Lacostes in Glasgow's "Merchant City East".

Welly lovers should note that the Big W has really nice floral ones for a mere £12. I'm not sure if you can get them in a normal Woolworth's though. Does anyone have a Big W near them? Nobody I know has ever heard of it, except through my marvelling at its wondrousness.

Madchen (Madchen), Friday, 5 November 2004 10:56 (nineteen years ago) link

I'm not even sure why I like these but I do:

http://a712.g.akamai.net/7/712/225/1d/www.footlocker.com/images/products/large/538874_l.jpg

Porkpie (porkpie), Friday, 5 November 2004 10:56 (nineteen years ago) link

Yeah I know what you mean, not sure about the sole, but the colours are lovely.

PinXorchiXoR (Pinkpanther), Friday, 5 November 2004 10:57 (nineteen years ago) link

samba skates????
http://a712.g.akamai.net/7/712/225/1d/www.footlocker.com/images/products/large/036169_l.jpg

those blue ones are a 1980 re-issue, hence the dodgy sole

Porkpie (porkpie), Friday, 5 November 2004 10:58 (nineteen years ago) link

Mmmm. My navy/white Diadora's are about on their last legs at the mo, so moving away from blue is a new thing for me.

xpost innit - those are nice but somewhat too Sk8r for me.

Madchen, there's a Big W on an exciting retail estate in Newport near my Mum's - near a Lidl where I buy cheap amaretto.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Friday, 5 November 2004 11:00 (nineteen years ago) link

simple and understated those original pumas.

I can't wait to get over to that amerriky again

Porkpie (porkpie), Friday, 5 November 2004 11:01 (nineteen years ago) link

Woah, hold the weddin'!

http://www.officeholdings.co.uk/images/shoes/71096143b.jpg

Those are nice, Chris. You don't need platforms though ;)
