^ that's John Hodgman, goofy on Four Loko, falling away from the mike lest his corpsing tread on the harsh hilarireality of AP Mike's handpuppet Skeevy advising Wally Wackiman over the phone to "GET SOME ASS, MAN!"

With that mustache and bow tie, Skeevy looks a lot higher class than I'd imagined.

As a side note, Marky Ramone and his food truck was there. It was the real Marky Ramone and not Jon Wurster.

Have we posted about Tom & Jon doing the new Aimee Mann vid, wherein they get Ted Leo and Jon Hamm to re-shoot "Voices Carry" shot-for-shot for her new single?
three bits:
(in 480p)
(in 1080p, even!)
I got to meet Wurster on Wednesday drumming at the Bob Mould show in Portland

Jealous, kingfish! Although I just remembered that I used to engage in goofy correspondence with Wurster on Friendster eight million years ago, so don't mind me if I get a little swagger in my step.
Man, every time I start making serious strides in my age-old crusade to assemble the Ultimate S&W Collection, something goes wrong. Now Soundbooth has stopped working on my computer. I believe I have all the clips through early '10 now, though, and that feels pretty solid. Like a life well-lived.

this isn't s&w related actually but the lyric to "labrador" is fucking devastating

Agreed. But you forgot to make mention of how cool I am for talking to JW on Friendster, aero. And how totally jealous you are.

Ahh, perspective.

Yeah, I know he's secretly Old Man Dalrymple posting under a pseudonym. Maybe it's not as cool when you're just bossing him around all day.

I have just discovered and am gorging myself on Best Show. I seem to be alone in this but I prefer Gary the Squirrel to Vance--the prog jokes get old for me after awhile. I don't "get" the Philly Boy Roy accent, although it gives me fits of laughter constantly. Is that a Philadelphia accent he's doing?

"Labrador" is a good song in fact.
never knew Wurster was in The Right Profile, I saw that band.

the smallest brag: scharpling made a video for a song from the new ben gibbard album. in the very last shot of the video, you can see, prominently displayed, an album that i played on
the video is kind of a rip of the video for "sugarcube" by yo la tengo though

not as much as the Ted Leo video Scharpling did (and that was hilairs so)

I could be way off here, but I've always been under the impression that Tom had some degree of creative input on the "Sugarcube" video (friends with the band, shades of the 'rock school' script he was working on w/Wurster before School Of Rock became a thing, stylistically very Scharplingandwursteresque).
