Yes, the voluntary part of is kind of a double-edged sword for me - but you're right; it's his option, and that is better. I'm just staid and old and I don't get the appeal!

i like irl because no one can cheat! and it means you get to hang out with cool people.

I don't get to play it often irl because it's easier to play one turn at a time whenever than it is to spend an hour or two actually playing. But at least the kids are old enough where they don't try to take the tiles anymore. (Not only aggravating, but also CHOKING HAZARDS OMG).

I think I spent a good deal of the 4th of July last summer getting my ass handed to me at irl Scrabble. That may be the last time I played that way!

It is true that that is a nice feature.

My online win/loss ratio probably doesn't prove that I don't cheat - merely suggests it. I have learned a LOT from playing a lot of online games, but somehow not enough to not consistently lose to better players (HI DERE and my friend 4ndr3w are way, way better than me).

Basically if it is an online word game, I'm in, but I am not very good. ;_;

i have found that i got a ton better at word twist from repetitive playing. i do not like pathwords, though.

A bit. I didn't have to wait long at Emergency, there were no drunks in front of me. Had to give up a shift on farmer's market, an art opening and after-dinner of friend, and meeting of expat Dems with Howard Dean today, plus had wanted to go see ILX bnads play (though cheapo barbecue part of prix fixe, did not want after toxic food shock). Bollocks.

Being sick sucks, but it's the worst when you have to miss stuff you wanted to do. Recover quickly!

Okay, Beer In The Shower fans, I am confused. Doesn't warm/hot water get into your beer? Wouldn't Beer In The Bath be more relaxing?

i don't really get it... i've never had the thought to try it, though. but yeah, i think bath would be a+++ but with a glass of wine.

its awesome, you just need a tall shelf/ledge to put it on, also COLD beer HOT shower is key.
