AG's Soundrop room says "This listening room is currently offline." What this app needs is a way to create a room for a group rather than a single user, so it can be used by anyone in the group even when its creator is not in it. Like Outloud, obviously.

But Outloud is working again, who needs Spotify?

For fuck's sake, Tuomas -- obviously Outloud doesn't always work, so the answer is "anybody who would like to have a backup plan."

noones going to spotify instead of outloud. its just for when outlouds not working or for ppl who have spotify at work/on mobiles that cant get into outloud.
As long as there's people in outloud others will stay there.

I guess you can't play local mp3s for other people on Soundrop; also not sure how it interacts with usage limits for non-subscribers.

AFAIK only Spotify's own tracks.

Lets stay together on Outloud! Its a nicer format than spotify soundrop because I don't have to look at ads while I chat -- although the voting function is pretty ace. Plus I dumped my FB and you need one to fully use the sounddrop. Yeah yeah I know... get a dummy act...

yeah um pfunk i think there is perhaps a ceiling on demand for these things so at some times its quite possible not a single other person in the ilxsphere wants to listen to alcest or indeed anything else

cuz u are streetteaming it something fierce and its a novelty i guess, the idea that this thing will create a sustained demand that doesnt exist for outloud seems p dubious

i am v dubious of using this while i am at work, and that's where i am atm
