Damn I had high hopes for The Skrill-X Factor

boxedjoy, Friday, 27 January 2012 00:42 (1 year ago) Permalink

surely DJ factor won't actually happen.

I'm really into this at the moment, think it just about fits in here

"a wild card panelist in Jamie Jones a up and coming Welsh producer who was voted Essex’s No 1 Minimal Dj in the summer of 2011."

a joke surely

Not been a minimal drop this good since Duoteque's Logo.

YES... New Omar-S = always a cause for celebration:

Clarke B., Monday, 30 January 2012 06:33 (1 year ago) Permalink

I like that Oskar Offermann track. I have a weakness for that sort of steel-drum percussive sound.

Moka, Monday, 30 January 2012 08:24 (1 year ago) Permalink

wow, that omar-s track might be the best 2012 track I've heard after Inspector Norse

anyone can ID these 2 amazing tracks played by nina kraviz?

In other completely non-shocking news, this new Theo Parrish "Translation" on Running Back is great as well:

Clarke B., Tuesday, 31 January 2012 15:20 (1 year ago) Permalink

I posted Translation 2 upthread, but yeah they're both great.

re: Todd Terje

the new/original productions on 'remaster of the universe' sorta hinted that he might start doing the whole wacky live band thing a whole lot more

His remix of Bjorn Torske's Langt Fra Afrika is more along these lines - I hear a real bossa nova influence in it, it's fun enough but kinda disappointing in the context of his current run of original material.

I can't find a full version anywhere online yet, but the new Chasing Voices is magnificent. Four for four for those guys/gals/whoever. You can hear a sound clip here:

Ah dang, you'll have to copy and past that link to pick up the last /. You can find sound clips elsewhere of course.

anyone knows anything about the untitled track by Soundso (whoever he is) on Panorama Bar 03? has it been released?

dan138zig (Durrr Durrr Durrrrrr), Friday, 3 February 2012 13:15 (1 year ago) Permalink

I don't know whether this track belongs here or the hipster house thread or even the dance partisan thread. but this is awesome.

dan138zig (Durrr Durrr Durrrrrr), Saturday, 4 February 2012 03:34 (1 year ago) Permalink

The Sand Dealer is too good.

errant flynn, Saturday, 4 February 2012 23:32 (1 year ago) Permalink

anyone has links to some good warm-up sets?

dan138zig (Durrr Durrr Durrrrrr), Monday, 6 February 2012 00:49 (1 year ago) Permalink

this is really great-- kind of more earnest, more r+b hot creations vibe?

my understanding is that soundso, soundstore and TSOS are all aliases of soundhack, maybe better known around these parts as the dude behind the sound stream records?

the soundstore track came out on the panoramabar 03 sampler

the TSOS track came out on the sound stream 2011 sampler

not sure when soundso is coming out ... could be untitled for a reason?

i like that grown folk track. probably less appropriate for partisans and more akin to the more polished and 'legit' side of what we talk about on the h****** house thread (beautiful swimmers, john talabot, L.I.E.S.)

go to 1:40:00 and just listen to that track (Ragysh) until the transition. it gave me the chills.

So, my fav 2012 track so far and it's ticking boxes for me, Miguel Migs with Meshell Ndegeochello with Deetron on remix. It really comes in at 3 mins. Absolutely stunning. Such detail. I need to here this on the floor now!

New Andres 12'' debut on his own label La Vida. Andres is one that really needs no introduction, but for those unfamiliar here it is: Andres, aka DJ Dez, is one of Detroit's unsung heros of underground music. Since the late 90's Andres has built up an extremely respectable catalog of that blurs the boundaries between genres, most notably his records on KDJ and Mahogani Music. Not to forget, DJ Dez is also Slum Village's DJ, has recorded many hip hop instrumental on Hipnotech Records, and his hand is on countless other Detroit records. Definitely one of the most consistent producers we've got here whose music can be summed up in one word: Quality!

All Flowers Must Fade, Tuesday, 14 February 2012 21:21 (1 year ago) Permalink

weird! was just considering posting that here. that title track on that one is beautiful.

*downloads meshell n on sight*

this, i think is from last year, but it's such a nice blend of pretty and tuff

btw what is going on in the 939493344-new-answers hipster house thread? i have little use for that music myself and once a thread goes over x new answers i can't click on it, but is it...interesting?
