uh considering my trip to sc (plane turned into bus-car-car), you should probably just start walking now.

I am onboard, seat 5a for the second time, wondering if I need a personalised barbecue branding iron in my life.

Surely there is an even more crucial and life-affirming product in that there catalogue for you.

I'm going to bed after reading about Intimate Partner Violence for far too long... good night, ITR...

I do so look forward to the inevitable John/Joei throwdown. (Sorry, Scurvy, my money's on the lady this time...)

Sara R-C, Monday, 5 January 2009 22:02 (fifteen years ago) link

HER: "Dan, someone sent us a text-to-landline message that said 'Happy New Year, you fuckers!' Who would do that????"
ME: "hahahahahahahaha"
HER: "No, seriously! Listen to this."
ME: (after listening) "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
HER: "See???"

^likes black girls (HI DERE), Monday, 5 January 2009 22:05 (fifteen years ago) link

The part that mystifies me is that she didn't automatically know *exactly* who would do that...

Sara R-C, Monday, 5 January 2009 22:09 (fifteen years ago) link

my money was on John since FB called me back when I texted him and we did drunken bar babble for a few min

OH THIS REMINDS ME

I got a Facebook msg from A11i St0rk4mp yesterday titled "You hated me..." that read:

You wrote, and I quote, "I hate you I hate you I hate you" in my yearbook.

What was up with that?

I have no doubt I did that but I cannot for the life of me remember why...? She thinks maybe we used to have mock "I hate you!" arguments but doesn't really remember either. Anyway, I was horrified and really fucking amused all at the same time.

^likes black girls (HI DERE), Monday, 5 January 2009 22:18 (fifteen years ago) link

?! I can't help you there, but I think your explanation sounds plausible enough...

Sara R-C, Monday, 5 January 2009 22:23 (fifteen years ago) link

(because you really didn't hate A11i that I know of...)

Sara R-C, Monday, 5 January 2009 22:23 (fifteen years ago) link

Not at all! It was perplexing.

^likes black girls (HI DERE), Monday, 5 January 2009 22:26 (fifteen years ago) link

i think most of the things we wrote in yearbooks most of the time were pretty incomprehensible.

so was it an awesome robot voice calling you fuckers?

VISION QUEST TO KNOCK YOU UP (John Justen), Monday, 5 January 2009 22:28 (fifteen years ago) link

a bored operator would be way cooler but ill take what i can get.

VISION QUEST TO KNOCK YOU UP (John Justen), Monday, 5 January 2009 22:29 (fifteen years ago) link

It was an awesome robot voice, probably the Dragon Systems text-to-speech synthesizer. I hope we saved it!

^likes black girls (HI DERE), Monday, 5 January 2009 22:34 (fifteen years ago) link

Truly it was a happy new year.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 5 January 2009 22:42 (fifteen years ago) link

VISION QUEST TO KNOCK YOU UP (John Justen), Monday, 5 January 2009 23:26 (fifteen years ago) link

I'm very sad that I didn't get a similar message. ;_;

Also afraid to look at what you guys might have written in my yearbooks, yikes.

Sara R-C, Monday, 5 January 2009 23:37 (fifteen years ago) link

xpoxt No, you get the robot voice -- and in the UK, there used to be a choice of robot, lady robot, or Tom Baker!

choomescent (suzy), Tuesday, 6 January 2009 03:24 (fifteen years ago) link

^^ I am so moving to the UK

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 7 January 2009 21:36 (fifteen years ago) link

I am here stealing internet and stretching my arms to unimaginable lengths unpacking stuff.

Ed, Wednesday, 7 January 2009 21:42 (fifteen years ago) link

Glad you got to where you were going!

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 7 January 2009 21:46 (fifteen years ago) link

Where I am going next is the CVS for some mentholated rub.

Ed, Wednesday, 7 January 2009 21:49 (fifteen years ago) link

If you are interested you can see my new appartment here

Ed, Wednesday, 7 January 2009 21:50 (fifteen years ago) link

Cool!

btw, I just got a crazy forward from my mother about putting metholated rubs (such as Vicks) on your feet and then applying socks. I didn't bother to check it out via snopes.com, so it might be nonsense, but allegedly that stuff can help you even if it's not directly on your chest/you're not breathing it directly.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 7 January 2009 21:55 (fifteen years ago) link

That's basically true.

BTW Ed, we found the Mexican hot choc as exactly described 2mn after I spoke to you! Kelly bought some too.

mmmmm, that sounds soooooo good.

choomescent (suzy), Thursday, 8 January 2009 00:59 (fifteen years ago) link

gah, I'm freezing and my evening is so totally going to be homework and treadmill...

Dan, I wound up just buying one, the MSTRKRFT one (due to money constraints) - but I have preserved you guys' advice in a Word document that I look at often (my "books read" document, where I obsessively list every book I read). So basically I'm preserving your advice for further gift-giving occasions.
