You mean witch house? Heh. Sounds great, I look forward to the release.
Kuedo's Sinking in the Datatank Mix
I expected this mix to be really rewarding to me but I'm just not feeling it. Track selection is fairly 'meh', aside from the obvious selections, and the mixing didn't really add anything.
The Palace tune(s?) upthread is outstanding though. I never really get out anymore, but at least I can imagine what it would sound like on a proper system.
― viborg, Tuesday, 24 January 2012 16:59 (1 year ago) Permalink
That Kuedo mix is very mellow compared to some of his bits but then it is meant for a bookshop. His Fact mix from last year was maybe my favourite: http://www.factmag.com/2011/10/03/fact-mix-288-kuedo/
Photonz has another carnival sized rave banger on the way soon:

― viborg, Wednesday, 25 January 2012 21:02 (1 year ago) Permalink
But seriously, isn't Balam Acab/Clams Casino sometimes considered 'witch house'? The Torus doesn't sound that far off, and I mean that in a good way.
― viborg, Wednesday, 25 January 2012 21:03 (1 year ago) Permalink
Balam Acab is too pretty to be witch house. Clams Casino is cloud rap without the rap.
― Number None, Wednesday, 25 January 2012 21:09 (1 year ago) Permalink
Nah Balam Acab kinda got unearthed by witch house heads but I don't ever feel like he was witch house. He wasn't very gothic or dark he just shared a spaced out vibe and appeared at the same time. Clams Casino is just a hip-hop space cadet.

lol I think we got what you mean. She rapped on it. Do you reckon she'll do a mixtape before an album? Where we get to hear Lone and Machinedrum bringing the hype before her album is nowt but Diplo impressions... I'd kinda like that, I mean she'd at least get Lone & Machinedrum tracks out there to the odd geek who looks at the production notes who hasn't heard them before.

the only thing you can call him on are the super stock 808 drum sounds. but he's on some other shit with his vocal samples & structures, wander/wonder was really pretty and underrated.
i hear that torus stuff as being part of the shlohmo/lapalux/beat scene tip.
