sifting through the reviews of this place is like the blood test from 'the thing', trying to figure out which non-hipsters are actually hipsters, because apparently only people are pretending not to be hipsters but actually are go here.

I'm also not a fan of a place that shamelessly panders to hipsters by putting dozens of old beer signs up for beer they don't serve. Seems like a desperate attempt at fitting in in the neighborhood.

So I visited here on the hunt for an 80s style formal dress for a halloween costume. This store was certainly the 80s dress jackpot. Especially if you were, say, a 26-28" waist. Which I am not. But they had 20 dresses in varying sizes and designs. I found that most of the dresses were measured in waist sizes, although a few of them were still item/brand sized. The measurements weren't entirely accurate, but I suppose they gave a ballpark estimate of whether a patron would or would not be able to wear it.
The prices were a little higher than some of the other shops that I visited (Blacklist, Rewind) but lower than others as well (Lulas, B-squad, Vias, ... and that other one on Selby, the name escapes me). I mean, thats ok, I'd still be purchasing a dress for fairly cheap. I can deal with that. But what really sort of ruined the experience for me was the staff. Ok, and maybe the ghetto-rigged fitting rooms. But mainly the staff (3.5 star review minus one for hipster workers). They completely ignored me even after I gushed a bit about our costume idea. The two or three of them were so busy talking to some guy that walked in, I ended up putting my own items back and getting new dresses myself. Struggling through the store with six dresses made of titanic sized portions of tulle, sequins, and taffeta. Then I got booted out of my fitting room that I had popped out of to renew my selection. That was pretty super too.
'Mkay, sorry that I wasn't cool enough to be all in on your conversation. But really, isn't the point of working at a store kind of to help the patron buy shit? Not to glare at them and whisper behind their back? I did not make a purchase here. They probably whispered even more after that. "OMG whos that mess with the LL Bean fleece? Thats so lame, my mother wears those." Sorry, I forgot my vintage whateverthefuckIshouldhavebeenwearing. I'll bring it next time. Maybe then I'll get some help.

I would give this place 3.5 stars. I think if it weren't so ghetto I would give it 4 stars. Yeah, that's right, I said it, ghetto.
There's a difference between hole in the wall and straight up ghetto. The difference is the safety of your life. Haha. I was a bit scared eating at Dinos. Even with my boyfriend, I was still a bit scared. And I'm not THAT big of a scare-dy cat!?

i mean i understand how a dining experience can be bad but, like, a level-1-adult skill is to be able to not throw a tantrum about trivial shit.
well if you count "posting about it on the internet" as the equivilent to "throwing a tantrum" then let me point out that this thread has nearly 9,000 posts
