A picked up a collection of 60s Playboys earlier this year, and--despite how obvious the airbrushing in them looks today--I must admit how refreshing it was to see centerfolds w/tanlines, real boobs of various shapes & sizes etc. Lots of time machine fodder in those pages.

I just finished rewatching The Shining. I can't think of another performance like Duvall's where I think she's kind of awful in the first half, and then in the second half gives the most harrowing, authentic, often even moving portrayal of fear I've ever seen.
