It's a good list, if a bit random on what heaviness actually means. But over half of it is as heavy as balls. The trouble with listing all the heaviest albums ever is it just ends up being a list of Warhorse, Eyehategod, Gojira, Winter, UFOmammut, Anaal Nathrakh etc, and it gets a bit tedious. Anyway, \m/ Dopethrone, 31 - 39 and I own two copies of Iowa.

'Fat Of The Land' can go fuck itself imho. I'm mostly surprised at Mogwai's ep included here (which does rule, but still, v surprising)

Yeah, and it was a lot heavier than that and everyone just complained about the amount of doom and death metal I chose but that's what I perceive to be heavy. This kind of list is actually be ok, probably better than mine if you had the reasoning in a paragraph next to each one. In a way the heaviosity achieved by unsuspecting Beatles fans by The White Album back in the day must have been pretty immense.

its been covering emo,mall punk, alt rock and zero metal and pretty boys in make up on the cover every week (just like the 80s) for years now. No doubt normal service will be resumed next week.

top 3 could be about right surprisingly. starting with slipknot at no. 4, this thing takes a sharp turn into weirdville.

Think I own about 10 of them, like a few more than that, never listened to most of the rest. The Beatles is the only one I've heard that I find actively unpleasant.

I own 13, like about 27 (can't remember if I've heard that particular Cathedral album). Which I guess means it's not too bad a list, although I'm not convinced of the "heaviness" of some of them.

own 16, like 18. I would switch 1 and 2. Master of Reality is the album I judge all other albums by, be it for heaviness or not.

Even though their heaviest album may be Born Again.

I like 20 of these, though there are a few others I like *bits* of (Deftones, ATR, Converge). Have to say that 'heavy' to me implies a certain amount of low-end heft which is absent from, say, De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas or Damaged, much as I love those albums.

Is British Steel really heavy?

This list could have been much better. The self imposed limitation of only one album per artist really was a mistake. Also, I'm not sure what planet you are living on when you say that fucking Korn s/t is heavy. Also, I like Mastodon, but if you were going to put a truly heavy band currently going I think High on Fire would be a better pick.
