When people talk about Hal Hartley, I have, prior to today, thought they were talking about Hal Sparks.

Phoebe Cates and Jennifer Connelly (they both have the dark hair and the bangs and they were in kidd-ish movies)

Andy Kindler and Andy Milonakis (only because their names are both Andy. Kindler was on a podcast & I started it thinking ugh I hate this guy and then I heard him talk and I was like, wait, that's not the guy I hate.)

I can only speak for lecherous old men: we don't mix up Phoebe Cates and Jennifer Connelly.

Yeah I got almost angry looks from husband when Moving In Stereo played on the radio and I started prattering about Jennifer Connelly...he cut me off and was like DUDE. YOU MEAN PHOEBE CATES.

Janet Snakehole (VegemiteGrrl), Friday, 4 November 2011 03:13 (1 year ago) Permalink

Man, Phoebe Cates! I had a huge preteen crush on her because of the Gremlins movies, but I haven't thought of her for years! Whatever happened to her?

I had to Google image search Jennifer Connelly to get Clemenza's comment, but I think I know what he means now.

Jane Austen and Charlotte Bronte, APPARENTLY!

(I was sorting out mum's and dad's books several months ago -- gathering them into piles from bookcases all over the house* -- and I just started boxing them up, and noticed that I had two completely piles, ostensibly an Austen and a Bronte, but each pile was an equal mix of both.)

^^^Yes haha I worked out as I sorted the piles out that THAT was the actual confusion I was making, plus JA's Emma w/Emily Bronte (the Bronte pile was all three Brontes, tho obv that's minly Charlotte).

Some of the cohorts I posted here I didn't really mix up at all at the time of posting but now upon re-reading I do mix them up. Feel like either the very act of posting somehow upset some delicate equilibrium or maybe I knew that eventually time's arrow and fortune's wheel would grind me down so that I would mix them up.

I constantly mix up Charleston, SC and Savannah, GA. Both being moderate-sized, exceptionally pretty, colonial era, coastal Southern cities with more good restaurants than their size would warrant.

I took this grainy photo of my son in the streetlight and it came out all green. The pose kinda looked like Joni Mitchell's on the cover of Blue, so of course I made the pun based on Kind of Blue by Miles Davis.

Lucky I guess I didn't call it Some Kind of Green.
