phil anselmo is a frequent commenter on nola.com, new orleans' premier venue for kneejerk racism and anti-liberal-media screeds (like every comment section). here's a non-political taste from an article about a heavy metal singer who got sick from eating sushi, which presented two avenues of attack for the clueless elderly suburbanites who populate this site--"heavy metal is just noise etc" and "SUSHI! in america we eat our food COOKED!" phil weighs in:

I'm a homegrown New Orleans boy, and a Heavy Metal singer. 6-platinum records, 3-gold records (different band), a record label that puts out local Heavy Metal (and other extreme oddities), I love sushi, and I'm a stupidly rich high school drop out and published author in several "hands-on, legit, and tangible" magazines, I've been quoted in several major selling books since 1990 and have been in films and the damn TV for decades.
It's 2012, and yep, Heavy Metal still pays the bills, so it's extremely relevant.
So I suggest, you go enjoy your stale, modern country records (or whatever the hell you listen to), or watch "American Idol" with the rest of the herd.
And watch out for who you "call out".
Because yep, I'm as tough as stone, and chances are very, very likely I'd kick your ass from Bourbon to Clearview blvd.
And Rob Halford would too.
And he's in his 50's.
But lets not get over-amped here...(HA!)... I bet your just a nice guy, posting stupid stuff, just like me, and we'd get along juuuuust fine if we were sippin' a beer at a bar...
