I've just converted the Merl Allin Prank Calls to MP3. I'll post a link here when I've uploaded them somewhere.

i think it's weird that ILM seems to be afraid of embracing at least certain eras of/things about gg's career.

you can't really type "geege" like you can say it though. shit don't translate.

i.e. his decidedly uncool raging nihilism?

no, actually; that isn't what surprises me at all.
i think the early, pop-punk kind of stuff is very good. and
also, the humor obviously.

GG's first record, "Always is, always was, and always shall be" is the best american pop punk record ever made.

Towards the end, he was a self-caricature making awful records.

''One would have to have a heart of stone to read the death of Little Nell without laughing.''

We can see here from Wilde's irreverent and cruel comment about Little Nell the tremendous influence it would have on Allin's own "Expose Yourself To Kids." Wilde's own indifference to children so obviously influencing Allin's own humor and songwriting direction.

gg definitely had his moments. like anal cunt or the dwarves, there's some gems underneath the antisocial silliness. or something. maybeits the beer talking

One would have to have a heart of stone to read the lyrics of GG or AC without laughing.

That "Little Nell" remark is a scream! No wonder Morrissey worships the guy.
