at least you have internet. what airport?

J0rdan S., Friday, 21 December 2007 05:42 (sixteen years ago) link

o'hare.

never ever try traveling on two separate airlines in the same day. especially around the holidays. if one fucks you over the other couldn't care less.

gr8080, Friday, 21 December 2007 05:42 (sixteen years ago) link

i honestly might be here for a day or two.

gr8080, Friday, 21 December 2007 05:43 (sixteen years ago) link

:( good luck

strgn, Friday, 21 December 2007 05:51 (sixteen years ago) link

i'm camped out next to some payphones because its the only electrical outlet i could find. one of the payphones was ringing so i picked it up and said "hello?" a woman on the other end asked if Drea was there and i told her no Drea had left.

fuck i am bored.

gr8080, Friday, 21 December 2007 05:52 (sixteen years ago) link

oh grady :(

go to bar! seriously, it helped me for about an hour. maybe they are closed now though? i was about to murder people by the time my plane finally boarded.

i once did 2 different airlines for international travel: super bad idea.

tehresa, Friday, 21 December 2007 05:54 (sixteen years ago) link

the thing is that i cant get through security until i'm signed up for standby and i cant do that for another 5 hours.

there is this hilton right across from where the taxis pick you up. i suppose i could get a drink there.

gr8080, Friday, 21 December 2007 05:57 (sixteen years ago) link

DO IT.
Stay out of security as long as you can... once you're on the other side, it's soooo hellish.

tehresa, Friday, 21 December 2007 05:57 (sixteen years ago) link

a guy just came looking to plug his phone in but i'm using the only two outlets. i offered to unplug my computer for a while but he said nevermind and walked away.

gr8080, Friday, 21 December 2007 05:58 (sixteen years ago) link

J0rdan S., Friday, 21 December 2007 06:02 (sixteen years ago) link

dude on payphones is fucking pissed because whoever was coming to pick him up (in the cold, in the middle of the night, from Gary, IN) got a flat tire and the spare was flat to begin with and they have no money for a tow truck.

gr8080, Friday, 21 December 2007 06:03 (sixteen years ago) link

well that's what they get for living in Gary, IN!

tehresa, Friday, 21 December 2007 06:03 (sixteen years ago) link

gr80 needs to attend the el tomboto airport party clinic
I can hang out in an airport for hours and hours and not get bored

El Tomboto, Friday, 21 December 2007 06:03 (sixteen years ago) link

some kids just asked me what time it is.

gr8080, Friday, 21 December 2007 06:04 (sixteen years ago) link

Damn, gr8080. :-( Sucks and a half.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 21 December 2007 06:04 (sixteen years ago) link

this is because every time I enter an airport I am already psychologically prepared to die and spend eternity in hell

El Tomboto, Friday, 21 December 2007 06:04 (sixteen years ago) link

it is kind of a viking mindset

El Tomboto, Friday, 21 December 2007 06:04 (sixteen years ago) link

I can hang out in an airport for hours and hours and not get bored

i can too usually, but not on this side of security. actually since i have wifi i'm not really too bored. just kind of crushed.

gr8080, Friday, 21 December 2007 06:05 (sixteen years ago) link

people with children eating fast food and talking on cell phones about nothing but very loudly in close proximity for all eternity

tehresa, Friday, 21 December 2007 06:05 (sixteen years ago) link

hey i just remembered i have a mini-bottle of cuervo in my bag that the barbershop in the east village gave me as a holiday present.

gr8080, Friday, 21 December 2007 06:06 (sixteen years ago) link

all the bars in o'hare are on the other side of security?
and you can't get on standby for five hours?

that's pretty extraordinary circumstances

El Tomboto, Friday, 21 December 2007 06:06 (sixteen years ago) link

i am an extraordinary traveler.

gr8080, Friday, 21 December 2007 06:07 (sixteen years ago) link

J0rdan S., Friday, 21 December 2007 06:07 (sixteen years ago) link

J0rdan S., Friday, 21 December 2007 06:07 (sixteen years ago) link

drinking and layovers were made for each other

strgn, Friday, 21 December 2007 06:10 (sixteen years ago) link

drinking and _____ were made for each other

strgn, Friday, 21 December 2007 06:10 (sixteen years ago) link

travelling without drinking? I'd rather listen to jamiroquai

El Tomboto, Friday, 21 December 2007 06:11 (sixteen years ago) link

btw: that pint of gin&tonic ended up costing me $12. at least it was tanqueray and not well.

tehresa, Friday, 21 December 2007 06:11 (sixteen years ago) link

the only thing on this side of security is a starbucks and i think its closed now. i "landed" and got my luggage on airline A, but 12 hours late to catch my flight on airline B. Airline B's ticket desk isn't open till 5:30 AM, and even though they were there when i first got there, they couldn't get me standby for friday travel until friday.

airline A is the one that fucked up, but basically i fucked myself by trying to think this would work.

also, airline B is the expensive flight that work paid for and airline A was the cheap one i bought on my own.

gr8080, Friday, 21 December 2007 06:11 (sixteen years ago) link

jesus christ.
well, you live and learn, I suppose. I have had similarly extra-long standby layovers but never overnight.

El Tomboto, Friday, 21 December 2007 06:13 (sixteen years ago) link

I will use MINDWAVES to send you some MINDWINE

El Tomboto, Friday, 21 December 2007 06:14 (sixteen years ago) link

RED OR WHITE

El Tomboto, Friday, 21 December 2007 06:14 (sixteen years ago) link

i'd take a MINDBOARDINGPASS over mindwine.

gr8080, Friday, 21 December 2007 06:14 (sixteen years ago) link

tomboto are you extracting the mindwine from your very own mindgrape?

J0rdan S., Friday, 21 December 2007 06:18 (sixteen years ago) link

zing?

gr8080, Friday, 21 December 2007 06:18 (sixteen years ago) link

lol no 30 rock ref idk if tombot watches it tho

J0rdan S., Friday, 21 December 2007 06:19 (sixteen years ago) link

gr80 does o'hare have free wireless?

J0rdan S., Friday, 21 December 2007 06:20 (sixteen years ago) link

yeah i'd probably take having a seat over both alcohol and not listening to jamiroquai, but the important thing is once you have a seat you can do both of those
