Well, our Amb's styled herself as a 'ging defender' so..

some dude at work who listened mostly to awful barf-rock like Nickelback and Seether and dopey novelty stuff like "I'm a Barbie Girl" blasted "Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites" one day. When I asked him about it, he just epcalled it 'dubstep.'

I had no idea that dubstep was going mainstream here, so I was a little impressed.

my coworkers won't shut up about turntable and mention dubstep a lot. im the other day:

how goes? I'm trying to pin down the genre of an artist, he goes by "Burial" -- electronic artist from the UK, have you by chance heard of him?
Wiki says his genre is "ambient, dubstep, house" among other things, hard to pin down -- so was just curious.

i generally just keep quiet and act like i just listen to salsa.

Urgent and key question in this debate, what sort of profile do PENDULUM have in the US? Because I think it is now the law that every teenage boy in the UK must immediately get massively into Pendulum the moment he turns 15. They're like the new Green Day.

Pendulum = obviously not brostep but an important marker the the development of testosterone dance.

i don't know if pendulum stick out or anything or just fade into the rest of that general WOMP WOMP d+b sect that's a precursor to all this

the Pendulum link would make sense to me, I can imagine yr Kerrang metal-listening teen digging Skrillex with Pendulum being your natural point in between. But I have no idea if that metal -> brostep continuum really exists, in the UK at least. And have only heard of Skrillex through here and HRO.

Flyer suggests - sweaty, unwashed, too much time spent playing video games, only three girls in the club two of which are going out with the DJs.

This stuff is all very well if it actually does something interesting, but fuck me that MAgnetic Man album is as dull and predictable as hell. Plus I'm now allergic to Pendulum. Skrillex and Nero make me wanna take a potato peeler to my skin.

me too! was that mid-June sometime? We stuck around for hours hoping that Ben UFO's late set would change things, then he cleared the floor immediately and gave up after about four tracks.
