would love to find out how Def Jam are screwing him right now. Seriously is there any label with poorer label-artist relationships than Def Jam?

mingalaba, Thursday, 4 August 2011 05:06 (1 year ago) Permalink

i always forget that terius is a sculptor as well

lex pretend, Thursday, 4 August 2011 07:06 (1 year ago) Permalink

isnt he supposed to be executive vp at def jam? not that i can find any evidence of it other than himself announcing it on his twitter one time.

MrTeriusNash Terius Nash
Dont know what movie yet anyone. just trying to say something less thoughtful.

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 17 August 2011 09:06 (1 year ago) Permalink

lol

the micro-level insight into his process you get from twitter is really interesting. like it seems like the genealogy of 1977 is him deciding to make a record called 1977, then designing a cover, then writing some of the songs, getting around to writing the song about his mom that he thought it'd be good to write, etc, the whole thing probably running up to the time of release. it's so weird! but it works for him.

Murderer - inspired by the film Colombiana (i think?). first track we've heard from 1977.

Somewhere between Fergie and Jesus (Alex in Montreal), Monday, 22 August 2011 07:43 (1 year ago) Permalink

yeah idk about that one -- production is kinda cool tho

am i wrong to say those drums are influenced by "pon de floor"/"ass on the floor"/"girls run the world"

J0rdan S., Monday, 22 August 2011 07:54 (1 year ago) Permalink

i really dig it, although it could lose the fake nylon string guitar imo.

hardcore oatmeal (Jordan), Monday, 22 August 2011 14:08 (1 year ago) Permalink

to me it feels like the drums are just going for a cinematic 'marching snare' thing separate from pon de floor's vibe, but who knows

hardcore oatmeal (Jordan), Monday, 22 August 2011 14:09 (1 year ago) Permalink

i only listened once but thought the autotune was kinda killing his voice, some

sexual union prayerbook slam (schlump), Monday, 22 August 2011 14:35 (1 year ago) Permalink

that autotune is terrible. not in an "omg autotune is so terrible" kind of way but in "the autotune on this particular track is terrible"

low - murderer vs imogean heap - hide n seek

1. WAKE ME WHEN IT´S OVER
2. USED TO BE
3. LONG GONE
4. GHETTO FEAT BIG SEAN
5. WEDDING CRASHER
6. ROLEX FEAT CASHA
7. SILLY INTRODUCING CASHA
8. 1977 (MISS YOU STILL)
9. WISH YOU WERE MINE
10. REAL
11. FORM OF FLATTERY

(Chris Isaak Cover) (schlump), Thursday, 25 August 2011 13:38 (1 year ago) Permalink

That's a good sign, not that expectations are particularly high.

A Chuck Person's Guide to Mark Aguirre (Andy K), Thursday, 25 August 2011 13:40 (1 year ago) Permalink

6. ROLEX FEAT CASHA
7. SILLY INTRODUCING CASHA

These are out of sequence, right?

A Chuck Person's Guide to Mark Aguirre (Andy K), Thursday, 25 August 2011 13:41 (1 year ago) Permalink

Maybe Silly is a lead single!

Somewhere between Fergie and Jesus (Alex in Montreal), Thursday, 25 August 2011 13:51 (1 year ago) Permalink

maybe she's just kinda 'on' rolex + silly is more a sorta Nivea style 'vehicle'

(Chris Isaak Cover) (schlump), Thursday, 25 August 2011 13:52 (1 year ago) Permalink

maybe the title is "silly introducing casha", as in "it'd be silly introducing casha" or something

lex pretend, Thursday, 25 August 2011 18:51 (1 year ago) Permalink

still disappointed that rihanna song wasn't "photographs featuring will.i.am", ie a song about photos of will.i.am, which would have had the added bonus of not actually having will.i.am on it
