Don't have anything to contribute, but that's a lovely idea and I wish you all the best with it.

I am not a great writer by any means so I'm not the ideal contributor, but I am glad this is being put together.

Just to remind anyone that didn't see it -- email me stories if you don't want to put them up here or on the RIP page

six months pass...

It took a bit longer than planned, what with one thing and another, but here is the Freaky Trigger memorial page for Martin.

Nice work! I didn't really ever interact with Martin, but I've always enjoyed his writing, very cool to see this. I like the use of the Wu-Tang logo.

five years pass...

happy birthday martin!

i will always be honored that martin appeared on me and mark s's podcast once. we didn't have a studio so martin came to my apartment. i spread a blanket on the kitchen table to try and muffle the reverb. i think martin was our first guest to say straight out he didn't think much of the story, but he used it as a launching point for one of the best discussions i think we ever had on the show.

his knowledge and curiosity and humility were all legendary. i wish i could have shared all the incredible bandes dessinées i've discovered in france. he was always envious of french comics culture.

Beautifully put, Tracer Hand.

Just the other day I was sorting out some books and wondering why I had two identical paperback copies of Flow My Tears, The Policeman Said by Philip K Dick. I opened one of them and found that it had a bookplate pasted on the first page - it was the book that Martin had chosen for a school prize. I inherited a number of Martin's PKD holdings, never noticed the plate before, and was of course deeply moved.

Hardly a day goes by when I don't think, 'Would love to talk to Skidmore about...'

Thanks for sharing this, Tracer.

I have a big pile of Samuel R Delany books in my bedroom and whenever I see them I think about Martin, and also about H@zel's very touching speech at Martin's memorial service, when she talked about him reading a worn down-copy of Dhalgren for the very final time. Books live on after us - but we live on through them too.

Hadn't seen those photos before - so nice.

This page appears to be gone :/ Anybody know how we can get it back?

His birthday today and I'm thinking of him.

In particular I was remembering these tremendous photos of him:

And amid all this remembering I have just noticed: A new post on the site Martin started in 2010!
