Her mom was Eileen Hayward on Twin Peaks, the wheelchair-bound mother to Donna (Lara Flynn-Boyle).

DTE may refer to:

* Data terminal equipment, a telecommunications instrument that interfaces with computers
* DTE Energy, a power company based in Detroit, Michigan, USA
* Dithioerythritol, a chemical compound with two reducing SH-groups
* DTE80, a Microsoft VStudio automation library

She's very beautiful and, like most very beautiful women, is condemned to a life with inferior males.

Her film ALL THE REAL GIRLS is surprisingly terrible.

the pinefox, Friday, 19 December 2008 22:05 (4 years ago) Permalink

Spoken like a firmly heterosexual male

nabisco, Friday, 19 December 2008 22:18 (4 years ago) Permalink

I don't find her 'very beautiful' though neither is she belle-laide, she's just very, very alluring.

She looks and sounds severely retarded and/or drugged throughout the entirety of The Happening.

Used to great effect on the RiffTrax version of The Happening.

My friend was a semi-friend of hers in college and wanted desperately to get in her pants. Now he says that she was smelly but I think that's just sour grapes.

Her dad did some sort of production work with it, IIRC

He directed a few eps.

Hahaha I have only ventured one opinion here, about thinking Emily might be cuter

nabisco, Friday, 19 December 2008 23:22 (4 years ago) Permalink

Granted I've only seen it once, and it was some years ago, but I really liked All the Real Girls. It seems to get a lot of hate.

Gukbe, Friday, 19 December 2008 23:25 (4 years ago) Permalink

i really want to see the happening now

M@tt He1ges0n, Friday, 19 December 2008 23:27 (4 years ago) Permalink

you don't! that little compilation is brilliant, but when watching the film itself, your soul will be crushed.

Gukbe, Friday, 19 December 2008 23:41 (4 years ago) Permalink

Uh, sure, Nabisco.

total mormon cockblock extravaganza (jaymc), Saturday, 20 December 2008 00:08 (4 years ago) Permalink

I have no idea which position you're taking with that picture, man! I think it all comes down to how strongly defined you like your facial features, really. Also whether or not you imagine a childhood where Zooey is always being huge-eyed and quirky and attention-grabbing and Emily is sneering around being annoyed with that.

nabisco, Saturday, 20 December 2008 00:10 (4 years ago) Permalink

her eye makeup is terrifying in that picture

horseshoe, Saturday, 20 December 2008 00:11 (4 years ago) Permalink

Mr. Que, Saturday, 20 December 2008 00:11 (4 years ago) Permalink

Emily is just Zooey + 8 years + a week dead + on coke

how pretty of me (wanko ergo sum), Saturday, 20 December 2008 00:12 (4 years ago) Permalink

terrifyingly PRETTY

umm okay that is a somewhat how-you-say "dramatic" makeup job there, but honestly, there is no picture anyone will ever find on the internet to back up any assertion that Emily Deschanel is anything other than pretty good looking

nabisco, Saturday, 20 December 2008 00:13 (4 years ago) Permalink

I think it all comes down to how strongly defined you like your facial features, really.

Could be. It's kind of amazing that they are sisters, actually, since Emily looks totally unremarkable to me, and Zooey induces instant affection.

total mormon cockblock extravaganza (jaymc), Saturday, 20 December 2008 00:14 (4 years ago) Permalink

xpost - also I am happy to admit that as far as default facial expressions go, I probably have come to prefer "thoughtful appraising squint" to "wide-eyed, giddy, slightly stonerish"

xpost - "totally unremarkable?" -- this seems like madness -- there are days when i'd think that of them in reverse!

nabisco, Saturday, 20 December 2008 00:16 (4 years ago) Permalink

Unremarkable doesn't mean unattractive, btw -- just kind of, you know, standard Hollywood actress.

total mormon cockblock extravaganza (jaymc), Saturday, 20 December 2008 00:18 (4 years ago) Permalink

Mr. Que, Saturday, 20 December 2008 00:18 (4 years ago) Permalink

^^ see, not that this is the issue, but the person in that picture who looks more like people I see in my everyday life is ... on the right

nabisco, Saturday, 20 December 2008 00:19 (4 years ago) Permalink

I may also be affected by a sense that Emily could kick Zooey's ass, even after she lost weight/hips during a Bones off-season

nabisco, Saturday, 20 December 2008 00:21 (4 years ago) Permalink

i may be having problems with my browser. but that last pic Mr. Que posted looks like zooey deschanel next to an enormous pink hexagon.

oh no, wait...

Mo Money Mo Konjic (Roberto Spiralli), Saturday, 20 December 2008 00:29 (4 years ago) Permalink

nabs, I thought you were making the argument that you were pro-Emily b/c she was more everydayish?

how pretty of me (wanko ergo sum), Saturday, 20 December 2008 00:33 (4 years ago) Permalink

No no, I haven't said anything like that!

It's spectacularly unimportant, I just kinda like her better. I'm guessing it's like 40% jaw-related and 30% squint-versus-wide-eyes-related. Either that or I'm just old or something.

nabisco, Saturday, 20 December 2008 00:38 (4 years ago) Permalink

Also I've watched Bones several times

nabisco, Saturday, 20 December 2008 00:39 (4 years ago) Permalink

to me that last pic says it all, Z's hair is darker and shinier, her skin is whiter and clearer, her eyes are bluer, Emily looks like her boyfriend has cheated on her whereas Z just looks like she wants away from her weird sister

i watch Bones btw
