oh man, my hour long dept-head mtg this afternoon has been extended to two hours (which means past my normal leaving-time) and it will involve touring some new facilities. Which means hiking around.

you know what else is wrong, sara? the people in the year below me had a MUCH easier schedule this year and did not get hit with the lolhueg history final + accounting final back to back like we did. also they are done. i checked the calendar, and this does not line up with when i finished last year. i want some money back or something.

ok i am going to make 0 sense until i sleep again (because that 5-8 stint really just didn't do it for me) and if anyone gives me attitude at work today i might snap. how to breathe?

BTW did not get back to my mom's house in Mpls until gone 1.30 last night, due to Philadelphia airport shenanigans with my connecting flight (I should have been back at 9.45). Was supposed to be 3 hours layover, which would have been fine because it gave enough time for 1) pointless trip through security, AIRSIDE and 2) cheese steak. Suffice to say many new and arcane forms of delay exhibited by US Airways.

Also, can I haz PLEASE and THANK YOU from US airport security folks? Everywhere else seems to be able to manage that.

After my experience last night, don't be foolhardy and expect on-timeness at the airport. I wanted to punch people by the end of it, starting with the person next to me on PHI/MSP flight: obese mouth-breather who kept light on for the whole ride TO READ THE SKYMALL MAG PAGE BY PAGE, lips moving, when whole plane was on lights-out. I had been up for +24 hours by that point.

you guys are making me insanely glad to not have to go near an airport in the foreseeable future.

i had a beer at lunch w/other students and my friend nate had like half a one and we were all hella loud and kookookaka. this is what happens when you've got about 9 hours of sleep between 8 ppl (which we all fit in the car from the U over to some Chinese place on University, in St Paul, where my classmates ordered in actual China talk)

srsly i felt like three beers drunk before even finishing the thing

so i've been emailing with guy who runs this amazing classy awesome small press, he puts out beautiful high quality stuff. today i asked him if his press is full time or he has a day job... turns out he is the curator of the 3peri3nce mus1c pr0ject | sci3nce fict1on mus3um and hall of fame in seattle. his press is just a side project from which he breaks even with maybe the occasional small profit. then he gives me a link to his blog which features a bunch of his other work. this dude is so talented and prolific, and i don't know how he finds the time or where he gets the energy, but it has basically made me just want to give up because i will never be this good/motivated/dedicated/capable/inspired, and i will be stuck slaving in retail until i die of boredom.

Long ago I adjusted to the idea that internal US flights were not going to serve complimentary ANYTHING unless they were in appeaser mode after a delay (as with last night) but SkyMall is HORRIBLE. The aesthetic of the thing and the items available have always made me wanna vom.

Best gratis mag ever = NWA's duty free, with all its kerayzee Japanese gifts (frozen sukiyaki beef! shochu! SUNTORY Whisky!) designed to be given as business gifts, and with barely anything in English except for odd words in that one font used for Romanesque characters. I grew up with this and loved it in the same way I love MSP's signage being in English and Japanese.

xp It isn't motivation; you just get in so far that you're basically trapped and you have to finish in order to get out of the trap...
