death to ilx, long live the frogbs (strongo hulkington's ghost dad), Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:01 (twelve years ago) link

Becky is almost the hottest of the early seasons by default, aside of course from JACINDA

DJP, Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:02 (twelve years ago) link

jacinda was the manufacture music of human female beauty

death to ilx, long live the frogbs (strongo hulkington's ghost dad), Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:02 (twelve years ago) link

i'm reading the synopsis of the DC series and i feel about 200 years old

goole, Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:04 (twelve years ago) link

Josh is a Puerto Rican/Italian singer/songwriter/dancer from South Philadelphia, specializing in glam rock, rap, and punk-funkadelic music.[32][58] He used to be the lead singer in a band called Whiskey Livin', and is currently working on a solo project.[30] He dropped out of high school twice and was jailed due to an association with gangs he says he longer retains[47][32] He likes to dress well, and is described as a quintessential ladies' man, though he concedes that his attraction to women is his main weakness, which may make it difficult to stay faithful to his girlfriend of three years,[59] Ashley.[58] After moving into the Real World house, Josh began working part-time as a bartender in Georgetown.[30] He also forms a band while in DC named Wicked Liquid.

like, this should not be shown on television to children, it will rot minds

goole, Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:04 (twelve years ago) link

aw i missed that thread! wkiw heather b and julie, then and (i assume) now

horseshoe, Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:05 (twelve years ago) link

I think Becky was sort of a bitchy downer?

\(^o\) (/o^)/ (ENBB), Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:05 (twelve years ago) link

I remember her as having a really crappy personality.

\(^o\) (/o^)/ (ENBB), Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:05 (twelve years ago) link

come on, in the london season the nascar guy bit off dude's tongue while lars played carl craig records

death to ilx, long live the frogbs (strongo hulkington's ghost dad), Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:05 (twelve years ago) link

julie was an airhead iirc

some dude, Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:05 (twelve years ago) link

I didn't really watch that first one that much though so I might be wrong.

\(^o\) (/o^)/ (ENBB), Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:06 (twelve years ago) link

tongue biting, check; also neil's girlfriend gave him a pig's heart for valentine's day iirc

horseshoe, Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:06 (twelve years ago) link

julie was great!

horseshoe, Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:06 (twelve years ago) link

becky was a lil bitchy but in a way that guys dig

some dude, Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:06 (twelve years ago) link

I remember one scene in the London one where the Nascar dude was at the grocery store and was completely dumbfounded that he couldn't find Ranch dressing.

\(^o\) (/o^)/ (ENBB), Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:06 (twelve years ago) link

hahaha YES THE PIG'S HEART

death to ilx, long live the frogbs (strongo hulkington's ghost dad), Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:07 (twelve years ago) link

RW: London is what happens when you put people capable of reason together; no matter how ridiculous any of them got, all of them were willing to sit down and talk like adults and accept blame, and really when it comes to entertaining television fuck that, we want an angry black dude yelling at a farm girl (or, in modern terms, girls with implants making out before swapping partners, then running into the bathroom and cutting themselves while multiple male roommates beat the shit out of each other)

DJP, Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:07 (twelve years ago) link

it was some 90s zeitgeist shit that pig's heart

horseshoe, Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:07 (twelve years ago) link

except for the pig's heart, that wasn't reasonable but it was awesome

DJP, Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:07 (twelve years ago) link

horseshoe, Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:08 (twelve years ago) link

death to ilx, long live the frogbs (strongo hulkington's ghost dad), Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:09 (twelve years ago) link

i loved all those fools. norman!

horseshoe, Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:09 (twelve years ago) link

yeah becky seemed like the only one who had any idea of how it would all actually look on tv

some dude, Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:09 (twelve years ago) link

goole, Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:10 (twelve years ago) link

DJP, Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:10 (twelve years ago) link

\(^o\) (/o^)/ (ENBB), Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:10 (twelve years ago) link

who is norman?

\(^o\) (/o^)/ (ENBB), Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:10 (twelve years ago) link

norman was gorgeous also so nice!

horseshoe, Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:11 (twelve years ago) link

I hated Glen so much! He represented every faux-alternative douchebro that existed back then.

I related a lot to Becky.

online pinata store (Nicole), Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:11 (twelve years ago) link

real world ny resident gay

horseshoe, Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:11 (twelve years ago) link

norman was the "sophisticated center"

death to ilx, long live the frogbs (strongo hulkington's ghost dad), Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:11 (twelve years ago) link

they have had THREE seasons in NYC now (OG, Back To NYC, Brooklyn)

DJP, Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:11 (twelve years ago) link

watching the series in retrospect becky just kinda feels like the embodiment of the early 90s pretentious alternative bohemian thing. its like finding a time capsule idk

also her clothes omg just

Lamp, Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:12 (twelve years ago) link

there is no new york but heather b's new york to me

horseshoe, Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:12 (twelve years ago) link

norman also showed remarkable restraint in not socking powell in the mouth if i recall correctly

death to ilx, long live the frogbs (strongo hulkington's ghost dad), Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:12 (twelve years ago) link

Norman was the gay one? I thought he might have been. W totally S though if he weren't. Handsome!

\(^o\) (/o^)/ (ENBB), Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:12 (twelve years ago) link

Anyone who interacted with her showed restraint in that regard tbh. xp

ha no wonder i tuned out

This was the first season in which the housemates were given a season-long assignment or task, an aspect of the series that would continue in almost all subsequent seasons (the Brooklyn season dispensed with it). This season the cast was given $50,000 startup money to begin a business of their choosing. The cast's efforts were marked by much disorganization and conflict, and while ideas such as a dessert delivery service and a fashion line were floated about, they were ultimately not able to start the business.

i hate this. why did they do this. i hate reality tv, because of this.

goole, Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:13 (twelve years ago) link

yeah this is when it all started to get bad

death to ilx, long live the frogbs (strongo hulkington's ghost dad), Wednesday, 6 July 2011 20:14 (twelve years ago) link

powell was kevin, though! did julie say something horrible to norman? she was so young! i don't know guys she was probably an idiot but i love her for some reason.
