try just going to plus.google.com and see if you're in; that happened to my coworker after I added her. it's kinda weird.

i just tried to invite you SeaShell. no-one i've invited seems to be able to get in though

There seemed to be a window of actually being able to invite people on the fly in the last 6 hours and now its stopped (ie Im in now, and I had an actual "invite" button/link but now it's disappeared)
