woa, it's cool, it's all cool

I'd still go with Future Days ahead of either, however.

Tago Mago tastes great, Ege Bamyasi is less filling.

(and Future Days is my favorite Can album)

Is there any reason for ILX's sudden hardon for Can?
― billstevejim, Tuesday, 2 September 2008 04:38 (fifteen years ago) link
PS Choosing between these 2 is nearly impossible.

I'm pulling for Ege Bamyasi. Are you going to join the gang or do I have to corner you in a dark alley?

The infatuation with Steely Dan and Fleetwood Mac is over?

Tago Maqo for me. EB is not as memorable. TM is messy but the highs are higher.
I also really like Monster Movie. Malcolm Mooney's vocals are almost as good as Damo's.

kenan in otm shocka! can't choose between these two...

Tago Mago got TWICE the votes? Holy hell.

Someone in 2005 posted on the "lyrics you love to sing wrong" thread that when he/she heard Can's Mushroom, he/she sang it as "I'M GONNA GIG MY DESPAIR!" So that's why my other screen name is that, now.
I'm on a goddamn Can kick. And I love it, god I just love Can. And I never listen to Tago Mago either like I am today, I always head straight for Ege Bamyasi. I always feel like I should play them more, so it's so nice to come back to them. I have an Ege Bamyasi T-shirt thanks to another ILXor.

really hard. basically tago has 'halleluhwah' so wins on that alone. ege is more "consistent" but lacks 'halleluhwah'.

'Tago Mago' is the one I heard first and so in a way had the greatest impact, but 'Ege' is definitely and easily the fave, and has a sound (literally the production) that I like a lot more, their matured sound.

tago mago was a used CD i bought for $6 when i was seventeen, just before going to college, and things have never been the same since.

that was me, bimble. i always thought that was more poignant than "i'm gonna get my fix there"
― kamerad, Monday, 23 March 2009 03:06 (fifteen years ago) link
same thing with "when i saw"/"one-eyed soul"

ilm got the maths right:
32 votes : 16 votes = 2 records : 1 record
it is also about twice as long and can * 2 is two times better then can * 1, isn't it?
and in terms of hypnotic groove "tago mago" totally shits on "ege bamyasi". it doesn't sound like a band, it sounds universal.

But, which Can was better?
Can # 1, with MooneyCan # 2, with SuzukiCan # 3, without either?
