That is a long way to drive if someone is going to get killed. Decomposing bodies cut down on laffs.

At least that's what I hear...

Weekend at Fluffies

BLACK BEYONCE, Wednesday, 6 August 2008 20:26 (fifteen years ago) link

I'm starting to like this concept.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 6 August 2008 20:31 (fifteen years ago) link

WAIT, WHAT?!?!

(if you kill me, you will inherit negative a million dollars)

Plus, my corpse will not be fun. Runs in the family.

Fluffy Bear Hearts Rainbows, Wednesday, 6 August 2008 20:58 (fifteen years ago) link

Rest assured that we would be counting on you to drive the whole way.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 6 August 2008 21:00 (fifteen years ago) link

So you're probably the only safe one.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 6 August 2008 21:00 (fifteen years ago) link

Weekend with fluffers?

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 7 August 2008 00:00 (fifteen years ago) link

^^^ Next great porn title.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 7 August 2008 04:12 (fifteen years ago) link

You guys, I ate too much and had a very fun time and enjoyed my mojito as well. And then I came home and literally ate the home made hot fudge sauce I made over the weekend for dessert. Plain.

And now I'm going to bed because it appears that only one drink impairs my judgment.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 7 August 2008 04:14 (fifteen years ago) link

i spent the afternoon/evening with the table is the table, and i had two vodkas and now actually kind of shitfaced drunk because i have become a total pussy in my old age.

Rubyredd, Thursday, 7 August 2008 04:15 (fifteen years ago) link

you guys are awesome.

i went kayaking and came home and watched the second half of sytycd finale and now i sleep bc i am TIRED.

tehresa, Thursday, 7 August 2008 04:21 (fifteen years ago) link

I made a BIG-ASS BATCH of great minestrone from scratch. I love me.

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 7 August 2008 04:32 (fifteen years ago) link

I only attempted minestrone once. EPIC FAIL. I should try making more soups. I can do it my own self. Really!

Fluffy Bear Hearts Rainbows, Thursday, 7 August 2008 14:16 (fifteen years ago) link

I found these notes you wrote if that'll help. They were rather moist:

FULFI BARE MAEKS A SOOP

1 THING OF WATER
HANDFUL OF THING
BOILED RAT
A BEAN
60 GALLONS OF JACK DANIELS

Get durnk on the last ingrediebelment. Cook rest in micronowave. Eat, puke.

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 7 August 2008 14:44 (fifteen years ago) link

That does look like a recipe for an epic failure. Which is, of course, the best kind.

Upt0eleven, Thursday, 7 August 2008 14:45 (fifteen years ago) link

Somewhat more seriously, here's a few recipes and general pointers via the LA Times the other day:

http://www.latimes.com/features/food/la-fo-summer-soup1-2008aug1,0,2001911.story?page=1

Experiment and go nuts. Just keep the broth light.

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 7 August 2008 14:47 (fifteen years ago) link

I overcooked mine. Too many beans. Very starchy. That looks good, Ned.

Fluffy Bear Hearts Rainbows, Thursday, 7 August 2008 14:55 (fifteen years ago) link

Those cooking directions contain an unnecessary comma.

HI DERE, Thursday, 7 August 2008 14:55 (fifteen years ago) link

I am a bear, not a dog.

Fluffy Bear Hearts Rainbows, Thursday, 7 August 2008 14:58 (fifteen years ago) link

i love soup! it's too hot to make it in my kitchen right now, though.

tehresa, Thursday, 7 August 2008 15:03 (fifteen years ago) link

I overcooked mine. Too many beans. Very starchy.

Yeah, don't overload -- you want to give the soup something solid, certainly, but it should be a soup, not a heavy stew! Thus the need for a light broth -- they suggest chicken but I went with a good vegetable broth, which is lighter but also richer in taste.

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 7 August 2008 15:18 (fifteen years ago) link

do you make your own veg stock? i often find canned/boxed veg stock to be very salty.

tehresa, Thursday, 7 August 2008 15:19 (fifteen years ago) link

It can be but there's some low sodium ones around which I've switched to that are very handy; used a batch of that last night.

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 7 August 2008 15:31 (fifteen years ago) link

Not sure if it is available in the states but Marigold swiss vegetable bullion is very good and not too salty.

Ed, Thursday, 7 August 2008 15:36 (fifteen years ago) link

oooh bouillon! even better - don't have to lug liquids back from the store!

tehresa, Thursday, 7 August 2008 15:51 (fifteen years ago) link

Yeah, there's a couple of good bouillon options -- said batch of broth I made was from a small packaged variety. Beats out the old cubes by a mile.

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 7 August 2008 15:56 (fifteen years ago) link

All this soup talk is intriguing, but I'm probably never going to eat again. STILL full from last night.

Also, I had horrible insomnia last night and then this morning J came down with stomach flu. Fun all around at the R-C household!

Sara R-C, Thursday, 7 August 2008 17:52 (fifteen years ago) link

aw, hope she feels better!

tehresa, Thursday, 7 August 2008 18:50 (fifteen years ago) link

umm, she didn't have a cup of fluffy bear's soup did she?

anyway, internets peoples in far off lands are wishing her well!

Upt0eleven, Thursday, 7 August 2008 19:10 (fifteen years ago) link

Aw, you guys I'll pass on your good wishes. She'll love that.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 7 August 2008 19:18 (fifteen years ago) link

oooh i just created an excuse to go for a walk (aka drop off fedex package). yay!!!!

tehresa, Thursday, 7 August 2008 19:40 (fifteen years ago) link

weather is good today, hot but breezy, not too humid.
