"hold it now hit it" on a good system is the bomb, bass is killer

no serenade no fire brigade just a trypophobia (Edward III), Thursday, 9 June 2011 17:51 (twelve years ago) link

Oh good.

Anyone who voted "Sabotage" is a buster.

Parenthetical Grillz, Thursday, 9 June 2011 17:51 (twelve years ago) link

well obv

low-rent black gangster nicknamed Bootsy (DJP), Thursday, 9 June 2011 17:51 (twelve years ago) link

even though (challop alert) "Sabotage" > "So What'cha Want"

low-rent black gangster nicknamed Bootsy (DJP), Thursday, 9 June 2011 17:52 (twelve years ago) link

Yawn.

Fuck, are there going to be like 7 Wu-Tang tracks in the top 25?

Parenthetical Grillz, Thursday, 9 June 2011 17:53 (twelve years ago) link

that few?

low-rent black gangster nicknamed Bootsy (DJP), Thursday, 9 June 2011 17:54 (twelve years ago) link

"Cream" and "Triumph" are locks but i'm not sure if anything else really deserves to be there. so probably, yeah.

51 Cent (some dude), Thursday, 9 June 2011 17:55 (twelve years ago) link

lol Dan

yeah top 10 is probably all Wu-Tang

I always get torn between "cream" and "can it all be so simple", went with the latter

no serenade no fire brigade just a trypophobia (Edward III), Thursday, 9 June 2011 17:55 (twelve years ago) link

would've preferred Paul Revere or Hey Ladies placing over pretty much any other Beasties track tbh

Im more pissed about my lost ballot costing "sippin on some syrup" massive points

J0rdan S., Thursday, 9 June 2011 17:56 (twelve years ago) link

personally I am very partial to "M.E.T.H.O.D. Man" and "Release Yo Delf" but don't think both of them should place

low-rent black gangster nicknamed Bootsy (DJP), Thursday, 9 June 2011 17:57 (twelve years ago) link

Shake Your Rump is my all-time fave (and obvs my #1 vote here), but I don't know how many other Beasties partisans share that opinion.

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 9 June 2011 17:59 (twelve years ago) link

"Im more pissed about my lost ballot costing "sippin on some syrup" massive points"

I threw all my Trip Six Mafia points at Late Nite Tip. Late Nite Tip has the best bass of any track ever.

I didn't vote strategically at all. Only Luchini placed for me today.

Spottie_Ottie_Dope, Thursday, 9 June 2011 17:59 (twelve years ago) link

non-wu top 25 essentials: Mind Playing Tricks, Juicy, TROY, The Message, Top Billin', Gin & Juice, G Thang, Ain't No Half Steppin, It Takes Two, Flava In Ya Ear, Regulate, Shook Ones, La Di Da Di

51 Cent (some dude), Thursday, 9 June 2011 18:00 (twelve years ago) link

Didn't put Beasties on either poll.

Spottie_Ottie_Dope, Thursday, 9 June 2011 18:00 (twelve years ago) link

Surprise, surprise. I voted "Shake Your Rump" as well.

EZ Snappin, Thursday, 9 June 2011 18:00 (twelve years ago) link

Is Mama Said Knock You Out a pipedream at this point?

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 9 June 2011 18:01 (twelve years ago) link

Paul Revere is eh. Wouldn't be mad if The New Style or Hey Ladies placed, but would much rather have no more Beasties and keep the field open.

Parenthetical Grillz, Thursday, 9 June 2011 18:02 (twelve years ago) link

it could happen

xp

Mind Playing Tricks, Juicy, TROY, The Message, Top Billin', Gin & Juice, G Thang, Ain't No Half Steppin, It Takes Two, Flava In Ya Ear, Regulate, Shook Ones, La Di Da Di

don't hold your breath on some of these...

I mean there's gotta be some LL in the top 25, might as well be that

no serenade no fire brigade just a trypophobia (Edward III), Thursday, 9 June 2011 18:02 (twelve years ago) link

Agree about too much PE.

Spottie_Ottie_Dope, Thursday, 9 June 2011 18:03 (twelve years ago) link

Lack of Snoop is the most surprising thing so far.

Also, Lemme Smang it beating Bring The Noise, Planet Rock, Follow The Leader, California Love and Get Ur Freak On is pretty much the funniest thing in the history of ILM.

Matt DC, Thursday, 9 June 2011 18:03 (twelve years ago) link

I mean there's gotta be some LL in the top 25, might as well be that

Well, I'd prefer Going Back to Cali, but I figure Mama Said has a better shot (voted for both).

― Johnny Fever, Thursday, June 9, 2011 2:01 PM (2 minutes ago) Bookmark

i realized i should've mentioned that too right after hitting 'submit' (i was mainly listing stuff from my ballot and "Rock The Bells" was my LL pick)

Passing Me By? The Choice is Yours? 93 to Infinity? The motherfucking Humpty Dance? I Get Around?

Not with this crowd?

Ante Up fo sho.

Parenthetical Grillz, Thursday, 9 June 2011 18:05 (twelve years ago) link

Snoop might have the best chance of any non-Wu artist of appearing twice in the top 10

51 Cent (some dude), Thursday, 9 June 2011 18:05 (twelve years ago) link

Would be amazed if Push It didn't place. Are we too high up for It Was A Good Day now? Probably.

Matt DC, Thursday, 9 June 2011 18:06 (twelve years ago) link

I worry about LL, BDK and Top Billin.

Parenthetical Grillz, Thursday, 9 June 2011 18:06 (twelve years ago) link

tbh at this point I am expecting #1 to be "Purple Pills"

low-rent black gangster nicknamed Bootsy (DJP), Thursday, 9 June 2011 18:06 (twelve years ago) link

where the fuck is special ed

lol @ dan

51 Cent (some dude), Thursday, 9 June 2011 18:07 (twelve years ago) link

It Was a Good Day prolly has as good a shot as anything. It definitely falls on the Summertime/G-Funk matrix that ILX loves. Hell, it could be #1.

Parenthetical Grillz, Thursday, 9 June 2011 18:08 (twelve years ago) link

Top Ten?

A Milli
Mind Playing Tricks On Me
The Message
Straight Outta Compton

What else?

kornrulez6969, Thursday, 9 June 2011 18:09 (twelve years ago) link

#1 will be The Message and you know it

Ismael Klata, Thursday, 9 June 2011 18:09 (twelve years ago) link

gotta make room for Hard in da Paint amirite

#1 will be The MessageLa Di Da Di and you know it

Would be amazed if Push It didn't place

this more of a club/dance song to me, is there even rapping on it?

tho I voted for "planet rock" so I don't have much room to talk

no serenade no fire brigade just a trypophobia (Edward III), Thursday, 9 June 2011 18:10 (twelve years ago) link

will go on an SB spree if "A Milli" is top 25

51 Cent (some dude), Thursday, 9 June 2011 18:12 (twelve years ago) link

lol

is "La Di Da Di" the most sampled hip-hop track ever?

low-rent black gangster nicknamed Bootsy (DJP), Thursday, 9 June 2011 18:15 (twelve years ago) link

Whether it qualifies or not is irrelevant, but I'd be surprised if it didn't place given that a big pop song like Summertime is also here.

Wouldn't want to bet on anything making number one but, if pressed, would probably go for Regulate.
