Eazily I approach, the 100 GREATEST RAP (OR HIP HOP OR WHATEVER YOU CALL IT) TRACKS OF THE GODS because I ain't no joke.

Part of my hate was environmental; Check Your Head was super annoyingly omnipresent among the modern rock heads I mostly hung out with as the ONLY hip-hop song they would ever play, ever. "Rumpshaker" and "Baby Got Back" were both refreshing in their ubiquity after being subjected to "So What'cha Want" and "Pass The Mic" on repeat both on radio and on friends' CD players for months.

Nowadays the only song on that album I have any time for at all is "Professor Booty".

I'm a beasties stan, didn't vote for "so what'cha want" but can't get mad at it placing, as long as "sabotage" doesn't end up in the top 25 I'm ok

I voted "hold it now hit it" but that had a candle's chance in a windstorm

if it's the highest placing Beasties song that would be cool since it's the one that hits me most like a rap banger -- if any of their other songs places in the top 10 it's gonna be some annoying bullshit

Prolly would've been top 25 for me if I'd done a ranked ballot. Totally in the pantheon of great get-hyped hip-hop. Also, the sound is unreal.

Side note: I was surprised that I didn't see Check Your Head in the WTF-is-this-doing-on-the-albums-list discussion. That shit is so not a hip-hop album, even more so than Endtroducing or Boy in the Corner or Aftermath or whatever.
