Yes! I wasn't sure Terrordome would place after the two other ones today. Well done, 7 other people.

I'm still hoping for a damon wayons "mr. Uglyman" placing

I'm not mad at "Lemme Smang It" either, that placing is hilarious

"getting mad at comedy votes nagl"

No one is mad, my "hmmmmmmmmmmmmm" was a replication of his opening hum, just to clarify.

I guess 28 and 27 should be switched as although they tied, 28 got more first place votes.

You got it right, actually. Number of ballots is the first tiebreak, first place votes is the second.

too much PE on this list imo

I'm guessing G Rap's "Road to the Riches" won't place on this then?

HERE WE GO YO
HERE WE GO YO

I admit I'm kind of biased towards "Scenario" because:

a) The Low End Theory duh
b) my cousin went to high school with Charlie Brown and introduced us to him many Thanksgivings ago

low-rent black gangster nicknamed Bootsy (DJP), Thursday, 9 June 2011 17:41 (twelve years ago) link

looking forward to more Dead Prez and ODB solo songs beating "Scenario" you horrible new jack fucks

also c) it is fucking awesome

xp: lol some dude

low-rent black gangster nicknamed Bootsy (DJP), Thursday, 9 June 2011 17:42 (twelve years ago) link

Wait wait wait. Who is fronting on "So What'cha Want"? Sometimes you people are ridiculous.

Parenthetical Grillz, Thursday, 9 June 2011 17:43 (twelve years ago) link

Woah. I'm shocked SHOCKED! Scenario isn't top 10

Parenthetical Grillz, Thursday, 9 June 2011 17:43 (twelve years ago) link

"So What'cha Want" made me actively hate The Beastie Boys for about 5 years

low-rent black gangster nicknamed Bootsy (DJP), Thursday, 9 June 2011 17:43 (twelve years ago) link

That is ridiculous.

Parenthetical Grillz, Thursday, 9 June 2011 17:44 (twelve years ago) link

A Beasties track was my #1, but So What'cha Want wasn't even on my ballot. It's...okay.

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 9 June 2011 17:44 (twelve years ago) link

Actually, tbh, I hated it at the time but love it now.

Parenthetical Grillz, Thursday, 9 June 2011 17:44 (twelve years ago) link

I had a Beasties track on my ballot but not that one. It's fine, tho.

EZ Snappin, Thursday, 9 June 2011 17:45 (twelve years ago) link

Part of my hate was environmental; Check Your Head was super annoyingly omnipresent among the modern rock heads I mostly hung out with as the ONLY hip-hop song they would ever play, ever. "Rumpshaker" and "Baby Got Back" were both refreshing in their ubiquity after being subjected to "So What'cha Want" and "Pass The Mic" on repeat both on radio and on friends' CD players for months.

Nowadays the only song on that album I have any time for at all is "Professor Booty".

low-rent black gangster nicknamed Bootsy (DJP), Thursday, 9 June 2011 17:47 (twelve years ago) link

professor booty otm

I'm a beasties stan, didn't vote for "so what'cha want" but can't get mad at it placing, as long as "sabotage" doesn't end up in the top 25 I'm ok

I voted "hold it now hit it" but that had a candle's chance in a windstorm

no serenade no fire brigade just a trypophobia (Edward III), Thursday, 9 June 2011 17:47 (twelve years ago) link

if it's the highest placing Beasties song that would be cool since it's the one that hits me most like a rap banger -- if any of their other songs places in the top 10 it's gonna be some annoying bullshit

51 Cent (some dude), Thursday, 9 June 2011 17:48 (twelve years ago) link

oh wait i guess i didn't vote for "So What'cha Want" after all -- maybe i was feeling even stingier than usual toward the Beasties that day haha

51 Cent (some dude), Thursday, 9 June 2011 17:49 (twelve years ago) link

Prolly would've been top 25 for me if I'd done a ranked ballot. Totally in the pantheon of great get-hyped hip-hop. Also, the sound is unreal.

Side note: I was surprised that I didn't see Check Your Head in the WTF-is-this-doing-on-the-albums-list discussion. That shit is so not a hip-hop album, even more so than Endtroducing or Boy in the Corner or Aftermath or whatever.

Parenthetical Grillz, Thursday, 9 June 2011 17:50 (twelve years ago) link

"Paul Revere", "Hold It Now Hit It", "Slow and Low", "Get It Together" all >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> "So What'cha Want"

imo

low-rent black gangster nicknamed Bootsy (DJP), Thursday, 9 June 2011 17:50 (twelve years ago) link

we had that discussion

xp

no serenade no fire brigade just a trypophobia (Edward III), Thursday, 9 June 2011 17:50 (twelve years ago) link

"hold it now hit it" on a good system is the bomb, bass is killer

no serenade no fire brigade just a trypophobia (Edward III), Thursday, 9 June 2011 17:51 (twelve years ago) link

Oh good.

Anyone who voted "Sabotage" is a buster.

Parenthetical Grillz, Thursday, 9 June 2011 17:51 (twelve years ago) link

well obv

low-rent black gangster nicknamed Bootsy (DJP), Thursday, 9 June 2011 17:51 (twelve years ago) link

even though (challop alert) "Sabotage" > "So What'cha Want"

low-rent black gangster nicknamed Bootsy (DJP), Thursday, 9 June 2011 17:52 (twelve years ago) link

Yawn.

Fuck, are there going to be like 7 Wu-Tang tracks in the top 25?

Parenthetical Grillz, Thursday, 9 June 2011 17:53 (twelve years ago) link

that few?

low-rent black gangster nicknamed Bootsy (DJP), Thursday, 9 June 2011 17:54 (twelve years ago) link

"Cream" and "Triumph" are locks but i'm not sure if anything else really deserves to be there. so probably, yeah.

51 Cent (some dude), Thursday, 9 June 2011 17:55 (twelve years ago) link

lol Dan

yeah top 10 is probably all Wu-Tang

I always get torn between "cream" and "can it all be so simple", went with the latter

no serenade no fire brigade just a trypophobia (Edward III), Thursday, 9 June 2011 17:55 (twelve years ago) link

would've preferred Paul Revere or Hey Ladies placing over pretty much any other Beasties track tbh

Im more pissed about my lost ballot costing "sippin on some syrup" massive points

J0rdan S., Thursday, 9 June 2011 17:56 (twelve years ago) link

personally I am very partial to "M.E.T.H.O.D. Man" and "Release Yo Delf" but don't think both of them should place

low-rent black gangster nicknamed Bootsy (DJP), Thursday, 9 June 2011 17:57 (twelve years ago) link

Shake Your Rump is my all-time fave (and obvs my #1 vote here), but I don't know how many other Beasties partisans share that opinion.
