my turn for challops: "Hypnotize" is my least favorite Biggie single

Letters From Iwhiney Gima (some dude), Wednesday, 8 June 2011 17:41 (twelve years ago) link

Hating on run dmc is corny

lebroner (D-40), Wednesday, 8 June 2011 17:42 (twelve years ago) link

99 problems is corny

lebroner (D-40), Wednesday, 8 June 2011 17:42 (twelve years ago) link

hypnotize is probably my favorite big single after maybe "one more chance" remix

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 8 June 2011 17:43 (twelve years ago) link

i also feel that way about hypnotize

steady sbobbin (symsymsym), Wednesday, 8 June 2011 17:43 (twelve years ago) link

Hypnotize is dope but "least favorite biggie single" is like ultimate narc of small diffs right?

lebroner (D-40), Wednesday, 8 June 2011 17:43 (twelve years ago) link

"99 problems" is not even in the top 99 jigga songs

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 8 June 2011 17:44 (twelve years ago) link

"Poppa been smooth since days of Underroos" makes me smile ALWAYS

pandemic, Wednesday, 8 June 2011 17:44 (twelve years ago) link

mtv sort of tried to turn the vid for 99 problems into a controversy thing by having serious-face kurt loder introduce it as being controversial

didn't work/was not controversial

I had no idea 'I Can't Go To Sleep' was a single. I like it better as part of the album I think, it's a bit too emotional to stand on its own. Payoff is still killer though.

Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 8 June 2011 17:46 (twelve years ago) link

yeah I love that they had the brass balls to release it as a single tho

no serenade no fire brigade just a trypophobia (Edward III), Wednesday, 8 June 2011 17:46 (twelve years ago) link

i don't think alive-biggie ever put out anything that wasn't 100% perfect ('miss u' maybe) so yeah its a case of arguing over some petty difference shit.

not really a correct usage of the term -- but yeah saying it's the weakest of like half a dozen classic songs is not a strong diss

WHO THE FUCK READS THE (a hoy hoy), Wednesday, 8 June 2011 17:49 (twelve years ago) link

er... really?

The Brainwasher, Wednesday, 8 June 2011 18:00 (twelve years ago) link

Never cared for Hypnotize either. Love that Wu/Isaac Hayes joint. Run DMC singles are class. Gold Digger is ok, Drive Slow is my Kanye jam tho.

Spottie_Ottie_Dope, Wednesday, 8 June 2011 18:04 (twelve years ago) link

Golddigger probably better than most 90s RUN DMC tracks. Still, I've grown to hate Jamie Foxx and his hokey soul-singing ass can leave now thank you.

Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 8 June 2011 18:04 (twelve years ago) link

okay maybe I should've specified pre-Back From Hell Run DMC

gold digger is pretty great but... no -- kanye used to be a great mc

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 8 June 2011 18:10 (twelve years ago) link

kanye was never a great mc come on

WHO THE FUCK READS THE (a hoy hoy), Wednesday, 8 June 2011 18:12 (twelve years ago) link

I think people are just tired of his face showing up anywhere. Understandably.

Spottie_Ottie_Dope, Wednesday, 8 June 2011 18:12 (twelve years ago) link

Kanye West isn't fit to untie their shell toes.

PG Harpy (Doran), Wednesday, 8 June 2011 18:12 (twelve years ago) link

yeah, great producer, great w/ a pop hook, mc? eh idk

no serenade no fire brigade just a trypophobia (Edward III), Wednesday, 8 June 2011 18:13 (twelve years ago) link

THIS x 1,000,000

Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 8 June 2011 18:13 (twelve years ago) link

no serenade no fire brigade just a trypophobia (Edward III), Wednesday, 8 June 2011 18:13 (twelve years ago) link

WHO THE FUCK READS THE (a hoy hoy), Wednesday, 8 June 2011 18:13 (twelve years ago) link

lol a hoy hoy took the words out of my mouth

Kanye has always been terrible; his great songs are not due to his lyrical skills

There is hilarious, great & unique rapping all over his first two albums

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 8 June 2011 18:15 (twelve years ago) link

Never got all the love for Flashing Lights

Number None, Wednesday, 8 June 2011 18:15 (twelve years ago) link

i will rep for Kanye's rapping on Late Registration especially but i will not say he was a "great mc"

Letters From Iwhiney Gima (some dude), Wednesday, 8 June 2011 18:16 (twelve years ago) link

this is the shit a hoy hoy has been chuckling about while we go about our day in ignorance

no serenade no fire brigade just a trypophobia (Edward III), Wednesday, 8 June 2011 18:16 (twelve years ago) link

Flashing Lights love all about the track itself, for me at least. Probably counter to the spirit of a rap poll, but I voted for it anyway.

Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 8 June 2011 18:17 (twelve years ago) link

You guys are crazy -- he stopped being great when his success allowed him to become douchier and douchier -- his "complexities" became routine and grating -- still putting out dope albums cuz he's supremely talented, but

He noticeably dropped off as a rapper around 'graduation' which we all know is the birthplace of the grocery bag

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 8 June 2011 18:18 (twelve years ago) link

i have hope that "gone" will place
