can't believe I woke up to this news. Terius is one sly barn cat.

I hope this is awesome.

or some element is missing

it feels like a co-producer is missing

Jacques_Lamure, Wednesday, 8 June 2011 00:35 (2 years ago) Permalink

they definitely sound like they were finished last night at 3am when he was drunk off patron and half-distractedly chatting with fans on the internet

Jacques_Lamure, Wednesday, 8 June 2011 00:35 (2 years ago) Permalink

Am I the only one that's way into these? I'm listening to them on nice headphones and they sound incredible. And "Fuck My Brains Out" is the funkiest thing I think I've ever heard from him.

Evan R, Wednesday, 8 June 2011 00:37 (2 years ago) Permalink

i like them more with every listen, which is pretty much always the case with dream stuff for me.

must say, though, i'm glad i don't really mind 'odious' lyrics a la make-up bag. because fuck my brains out is pretty odious

Jacques_Lamure, Wednesday, 8 June 2011 00:39 (2 years ago) Permalink

I don't think they're gonna be on the album anyway

Number None, Wednesday, 8 June 2011 00:43 (2 years ago) Permalink

have been letting these spin for the last hour or so, and liking them more than i did at first. "body work" is dece but slight. i guess it works okay, but hardly stands out, feels generic. "fuck my brains out" is fucking repulsive, and i wish i could get past that, cuz evan's right, it's a funky-ass track.

so FMBO rips prince on the bridge, obviously, but the delivery of "she know i'm a virgo, and i'm impossible to please" reminds me of ... something. shit, i can't put my finger on it! bugging the hell out of me.

contenderizer, Wednesday, 8 June 2011 00:56 (2 years ago) Permalink

why does he start meowing

i feel like i'll like these more after they go around a few times, sure. and yeah lick it/stick it is sorta a blunt new low.

stately, plump bunk moreland (schlump), Wednesday, 8 June 2011 01:17 (2 years ago) Permalink

lol i wonder if terius/anyone is aware of the new t-pain song "booty work" that goes "lemme see that booty work"

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 8 June 2011 02:27 (2 years ago) Permalink

im not feeling particularly repulsed by fuck my brains out tbh. i mean its gross and mean but...

☂ (max), Wednesday, 8 June 2011 02:32 (2 years ago) Permalink

also i mean it fucking bangs, so, its pretty easy to overlook how gross hes being

☂ (max), Wednesday, 8 June 2011 02:32 (2 years ago) Permalink

eh who cares

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 8 June 2011 02:32 (2 years ago) Permalink

it's a post-odd future world, let's get real

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 8 June 2011 02:33 (2 years ago) Permalink

that song is everywhere and i've always strongly suspected t-pain's success was what gave terius the confidence to embark on a solo career, so yeah definitely (xpost)

Shippie_Ipley_Dope (some dude), Wednesday, 8 June 2011 02:33 (2 years ago) Permalink

alright i didn't know if "booty work" was getting play elsewhere -- i've only seen "best love song" on the charts, which i've never heard

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 8 June 2011 02:34 (2 years ago) Permalink

"body work" is kinda cool, tho not much of a song -- FMBO is pretty great i think

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 8 June 2011 02:35 (2 years ago) Permalink

yeah Terius sent some song to T-Pain on ustream last night, I think it was "body work" - maybe he's on the remix

The Brainwasher, Wednesday, 8 June 2011 02:35 (2 years ago) Permalink

yeah it's not charting real high nationally yet but i'm already sick of it -- which is weird because i love the omarion song it's a shameless rehash of

Shippie_Ipley_Dope (some dude), Wednesday, 8 June 2011 02:36 (2 years ago) Permalink

okay, so i've spent nearly three hours with these on endless repeat, and i'm feeling p much at home. neither's great, but both solid, FMBO a bit better than that. and now that i've innoculated myself w lol desensitization germs, gross lyrics aren't really a problem. still a bit disappointed. neither track touches love king's highs.

and yeah, wtf is up with that "meh meh meh yeah" break between songs? is he anticipating his critics?

I like both, but my first impression is mostly how heavy they are sonically compared to most of his work. Really thick and bass-dominant.

Spo-Dee-O-Dee-Dopaliscious! (The Reverend), Wednesday, 8 June 2011 04:44 (2 years ago) Permalink

Really perplexed by the "meh, meh, meh, yeah" part.

Spo-Dee-O-Dee-Dopaliscious! (The Reverend), Wednesday, 8 June 2011 04:51 (2 years ago) Permalink

Some of the production details on "Fuck My Brains Out" are amazing. That quick, cascading bass synth during the second verse!

Spo-Dee-O-Dee-Dopaliscious! (The Reverend), Wednesday, 8 June 2011 04:55 (2 years ago) Permalink

even the promise of curse words would not be enough to make me or anyone need to listen to "y'all" a second time

i haven't listened to this new thing yet but dear god "thirsty whore" is just a grim, grim title from terius

flamenco drop (lex pretend), Saturday, 1 June 2013 09:12 (2 weeks ago) Permalink

i've warmed to this album a bit. helped to pretend i'm listening to a bunch of demos actually so thx to whoever put that idea in my head. most tiresome retread is def. 'loving you/crazy' but the stretch from 'iv play' to 'michael' is actually pretty nice. despite my best attempts 'turnt' has become permanently stuck in my head :-/ (SOPHISTICATED... RATCHET). i also love terius' crappy chopped & pooh'ed raps on 'too early'. that track is really nice melodically & i particularly love 'before you see me silhouette the sunset with my top down'

i way underrated "loving you/crazy" btw, the build on that is totally legit.

lol dream is so awkward. good perf tho

k3vin k., Sunday, 9 June 2013 08:10 (1 week ago) Permalink

Is he a germaphobe or is there some other reason why he only touched the mic/stand twice very briefly and gingerly during a four and a half minute performance? Also. Lol at 2:30 where the backup singers are doing their best to lip-sync to the auto-tuned Terius backing track.

enjoyed the rvw lex

obv "pallid palimpsest" is right up my straße

r|t|c, Friday, 14 June 2013 15:15 (5 days ago) Permalink

xx

enjoyed writing it. enforced repeated listening made my "actually this is just mediocre, not a disaster" position morph into "almost everything about this album is depressing and horrible and i really don't want it in my ears"

lex pretend, Friday, 14 June 2013 16:53 (5 days ago) Permalink

srsly though i can't get over what a terrible basis for a song "iv play" is. YOU ARE LITERALLY JUST PROMISING ME BAD SEX TERIUS.

lex pretend, Friday, 14 June 2013 16:55 (5 days ago) Permalink

and my big sean mention was in reference to "slob on my knob" which gives me the shivers every time i remember it, that line alone is enough to sink the whole album

Shock G Mo Collier (Spottie_Ottie_Dope), Friday, 14 June 2013 17:01 (5 days ago) Permalink

yeah, the fact that he tossed that out without dap did not set well with me

i didn't even give much of a fuck that you were mod (forksclovetofu), Friday, 14 June 2013 17:14 (5 days ago) Permalink

slob really is the magic keyword for this album. the reference must surely have struck big sean like a lightning bolt as he was disconsolately staring at terius in the booth

read the lyrics on paper and he is hardly breaking r&b decorum though - the teriusness makes it so

r|t|c, Friday, 14 June 2013 17:22 (5 days ago) Permalink

tbh idk, something still nags at me when i see this album being railed against so but either way he is truly no longer worth the mental effort
