ahhhhhhhahahahaha

i overslept (shocking!) and was late for work and then there was massive pressure to get something done in record time and people keep changing things last min and it's now been printed 3 times omg make up your damn minds and think of the trees, people!!!!!!!!!!

sara, i wish it was just that my prof does not understand, but in theory i am guilty. i should have been working on this project a lot sooner than i started it. part of this is me being unmotivated. another part of this is that i work pretty much full time and am taking 16 credits so sometimes things fall behind... other members of my class who are only doing 20 hr/week internships make me angry because they have time to stay home and work on things while i go to work. anyway... it will be over in 3 more all-nighters!!!!

very quotatious (tehresa), Monday, 15 December 2008 18:48 (fifteen years ago) link

lxy - I love that!

tza - I think it's not even that our profs don't understand; most of them are kind of rigid in their thinking. I don't know how you are doing what you are doing in school and working. I'm overwhelmed and all I have is school (yeah, and my family, but honestly my husband has taken over everything so well that I could disappear and the worst thing that would happen is that the laundry and dishes wouldn't get done).

3 more all-nighters! YOU CAN TOTALLY DO THAT!!! (I will cheerlead you, and you will finish just to get me to stop waving my pompoms at you. WHATEVER IT TAKES)

Sara R-C, Monday, 15 December 2008 19:31 (fifteen years ago) link

sara, ilu! thankig u in advance for cheerleading which is muchly needed.

very quotatious (tehresa), Monday, 15 December 2008 19:56 (fifteen years ago) link

It actually helps me to know that I'm not the only person chained to their computer, you know!

I've written all of, like, 3 sentences today. Working on the functional pattern "sexuality/reproduction." Obviously one of the most important ones in postpartum care, but aaaaargh, couldn't we discuss this with our profs instead of writing a billion pages about it?!

Sara R-C, Monday, 15 December 2008 20:08 (fifteen years ago) link

(maybe we don't need cheerleading, tza... maybe we need magic paper-writing drugs.)

Sara R-C, Monday, 15 December 2008 20:09 (fifteen years ago) link

lol @ me sending a strongly worded email to classmates asking them to not be verbose and stick to 15 min presentation time tonight so that i can go home and get started on the rest of my work before midnight.

very quotatious (tehresa), Monday, 15 December 2008 20:12 (fifteen years ago) link

hey lady, you are the medical expert - hook me up!
xpost

very quotatious (tehresa), Monday, 15 December 2008 20:12 (fifteen years ago) link

hahaha tza. "Don't go over your time, classmates! I need some rest!"

I'm no medical expert, good lord. Maybe I should read my pharmacology book more closely to see if there is such a drug.

I wrote a few sentences, but am now stuck again. Instead of being productive, I'm at ITR/ILE again... bad bad bad. But I really don't want to write about this baby's circumcision. I just DON'T!

Sara R-C, Monday, 15 December 2008 20:24 (fifteen years ago) link

Okay, I wrote it: on to "Major Concerns" and "Thinking Ahead" - and then to next functional pattern... Cognitive/Perceptual!

Sara R-C, Monday, 15 December 2008 20:33 (fifteen years ago) link

sara, i think you should write about circumcision as seen through a shiksa lens.

very quotatious (tehresa), Monday, 15 December 2008 20:37 (fifteen years ago) link

I can't decide if that would be better or worse than the actual event...

Sara R-C, Monday, 15 December 2008 20:42 (fifteen years ago) link

pretty sure that for the baby the actual event is worse

VISION QUEST TO KNOCK YOU UP (John Justen), Monday, 15 December 2008 21:03 (fifteen years ago) link

I didn't get to see the procedure, but at least they use anesthesia now. (wtf doctors before 1996 or so...) Baby seemed pretty content until we did post-procedure check - then he was pissed. I didn't blame the little dude.

guys, i think your paper writing drug is called methamphetamine

i slept the lucid dreams of an unfinished presentation outline (but finished writing) lol

rock loop twist down loop twist (tehresa), Tuesday, 16 December 2008 14:18 (fifteen years ago) link

yay! I hope you celebrate hugely when you are completely done.

Damn, my lunch date canceled as she's home with sick children. I can't think of anyone else to have lunch with.

Not Everyone Can Be Tupac (Susan), Tuesday, 16 December 2008 15:40 (fifteen years ago) link

tza, I'm so glad you're writing is done at least. You should celebrate hugely when you're done. Also, take a 20 hour nap.

Susan, I'm eating lunch alone today, too. :(

i still need to write out a profile for the theater i am designing and plan the first 3 months of programming, etc. also finish the architectural plans for it but that is for tonight.

rock loop twist down loop twist (tehresa), Tuesday, 16 December 2008 17:25 (fifteen years ago) link

f*ck. . .why do I eat chik-fil-a? It always makes me feel sick.

Not Everyone Can Be Tupac (Susan), Tuesday, 16 December 2008 18:31 (fifteen years ago) link

I hate those things that taste good that you later regret. I just ate some hummus and pita from my fridge, baked up the remaining cookies from dough I made last night... and now probably have to write a bit on my paper. Blah.

tza, your "that's it for tonight" looks like a month's worth of work to me!

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 16 December 2008 18:54 (fifteen years ago) link

Gah, I'm supposed to go shopping at Mall of America with my mom tonight. I could put it off again (though not for long), but that probably leaves me with writing my paper.

I would like a new option: play board games while drinking random cocktails. Why can't I do that?

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 16 December 2008 21:40 (fifteen years ago) link

You should do what you like. Life's too short.

Not Everyone Can Be Tupac (Susan), Tuesday, 16 December 2008 21:47 (fifteen years ago) link

Shopping trip canceled due to snow and cold! (YAY!)

Susan - you are absolutely correct. I hope to concoct a cocktail tonight, even if I have to split the difference and write while I do it.

Sara R-C, Tuesday, 16 December 2008 22:10 (fifteen years ago) link

i want a cocktail ;_;

also, on john justens rolling documentary watch, i watched "jandek on corwood" and "B.I.K.E." tonight. they were both acceptable.

bike was of predominately local interest because it was (kind of) about the black label bike club, which started in MN, and had a couple of people i know in it. It also focused on the brooklyn black label bike club, for which i would like to take the opportunity to apologize on behalf of my fine city for starting the blbk, because most of those dudes seem to be complete douches.

VISION QUEST TO KNOCK YOU UP (John Justen), Wednesday, 17 December 2008 07:56 (fifteen years ago) link

Damn, Sara, I'm sorry. I had no cocktails last night either, only half of a beer. Although I should imbibe soon as MY MOTHER MIGHT COME TO MY HOUSE FOR XMAS. argh.

Life is too short. . .lately I've been in bed by seven with some huge, fluffy library book. LAME.
