Third, MLP:FIM is a new version of the show because Lauren Faust, who worked on Powerpuff Girls and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, wanted to make a kids show that wouldn't cause the adults that watch with their children to slam their heads into the wall to make the saccharine, high-pitched, aural trauma go away.

based on the 2 minutes of this that I watched, where two of the ponies were having a bitch fit over cleaning up a park, I don't think they succeeded

I don't really get this either. I quite like the new MLP show, but there are current shows which are clearly better, e.g. Adventure Time, Regular Show, P&F. But a lot of toon-geeks are treating MLP as one of the greatest cartoon series EVER made, top five material. It seems to me like a lot of them are getting too caught up in the buzz.

I like Foster's better! But MLP is fun too, and if it gets me out of having to watch Dora or Max and Ruby I am more than happy to watch MLP. No one who doesn't have kids can understand how truly horrible most modern kids cartoons are.

I suppose that if one really, really liked such items as Care Bears and My Little Pony, one might have a discerning opinion of which was better. To one like myself, this question is like asking whether I prefer my vomitus with a predominance of half-digested red cabbage or green cabbage.
