I like the new one in small doses, but it annoys me as a whole. Should have been an EP.

It's on another of the million Burial threads, yeah.

I hope Burial comes out as Moby

why does nobody believe my 'Burial was the white guy in Babycakes' rumour?
― blueski, Wednesday, 23 July 2008 17:57 (4 years ago) Permalink
woop i mean 3 Of A Kind (Babycakes was the song)
erk, finally listened to this (Untrue). Its horrible, like Akon on mogadon.

Oh come ON. It's great, it really does sound like human burial. In frozen ground. It scares the piss out of people I don't like.

Burial is good but it's really not that awesome next-level thing that you have been hungering for.

^^^how I break it down to an extent

But really, what is?

I downloaded the last one. Listened to it a couple of times. His DJ Kicks could be interesting though...
― sam500, Friday, 30 January 2009 06:13 (4 years ago) Permalink
still dont really like the 2nd one anywhere near as the debut. the vocals on there dont really reach the 'deep' vibe theyre going for. they just sound a bit ropey.
― uk grime faggot (titchyschneiderMk2), Friday, 30 January 2009 09:33 (4 years ago) Permalink
i still have a lot of love for both albums, tbh. and while it's not the future of music or anything that second album is catchy as hell

If it sounded like The Marble Index with added bass, this'd be an A1 description. sadly not.
― tomofthenest, Friday, 30 January 2009 09:48 (4 years ago) Permalink
why are people still talking about his DJ kicks? why the hell would i want to listen to the musical tastes of someone who gets 90% of his samples form cutscenes in in metal gear solid?
i love his music though.
― straightola, Friday, 30 January 2009 11:50 (4 years ago) Permalink
The Marble Index is boring! Stop trying to be cool.

ah cobblers to ya. Nico would beat Burial in a scrap any day.
this is lovely, even though its from her manchester skaghead period.
― tomofthenest, Friday, 30 January 2009 13:46 (4 years ago) Permalink
because he doesn't get 90% of his samples from mgs and it would seem from interviews he has a good grounding in 'ardkore, jungle and 2step.
Reason I'm not in any way anticipating his dj kicks is because he isn't a dj.

He also samples unlistenable Ray J ballads.

I think I prefer Moth to Wolf Cub but they both sound like collaborations to me. Does anyone know who's responsible for what? I would assume both sides are credited to both artists.
