I don't think she had anything to gain by addressing fans/critics/peers/whatever and telling them how they should react to it. I do think an EVEN MORE personal explanation of how she interacts/was affected by the album would have been more, I dunno... useful? effective? therapeutic? finger-wagging is never a good look when it comes to aesthetics.

Maybe my view is skewed by reading ILX, Lex's Guardian piece, etc because by the time T&S weighed in I felt that ground had already been well covered and that most OF fans in the press were ambivalent to some degree.

I'm aware that my own response to Tyler's unpleasantness is less complicated than it might be because the most offensive stuff is often the weakest so I'm not wrestling with any reluctant compulsion. Goblin is no Death Certificate. So even though it's my honest response I almost feel like it's cheating. With a track like Boppin Bitch my artistic and moral responses are in neat alignment.

I have only one Tegan & Sara song - Call It Off - but it's A+.
