atari teenage riot ... Techno Animal, Kill The Vultures, k-the-i

finding death grope a lot more enjoyable & fun than any of those precedents. like it sounds like it ought to feel oppressively angry and "harsh", but it doesn't. good times album imo.

and yeah, OP gif couldn't be more perfect

yeah this is the crazy part to me. i thought it would get grating, but like i'm sitting here vibing with the windows open on a summer evening

Its weirdly positive right? And the diversity of approach from song to song means it never bogs down.
Interesting that this is garnering straight up yes or NO responses.

Can anyone id the "it goes it goes it goes igoes" sample that plays prior to guillotine on the tape that appears to have inspired it?
We gonna rockdown to whiney alleynue
And then we take it higher

Special Fleshlights for their Patriotism (forksclovetofu), Thursday, 12 May 2011 00:26 (2 years ago) Permalink

although it's a lot more punk rock + a bunch of other things, i definitely get a shabazz palaces vibe at times (mostly in the lyrics + flow, like on "culture shock" for ex).

Yeah, it's definitely in this SP/Spaceghostpurrp/Blunt Fang nexus of sonically abrasive underground rap, but way more aggro vocally than any of those. Anyone know where this guy is from?

crazy donkey winger (forksclovetofu), Monday, 23 May 2011 17:32 (1 year ago) Permalink

I sort of agree with plax's post; I think the self-involved irresponsibility fuels a lot of what makes their music awesome. I'd never want to do business with them or even really try to see them live because I'd be convinced they would flake out and not show up with no warning but I've enjoyed all three albums immensely.

I loves you, PORGI (DJP), Monday, 10 December 2012 15:30 (5 months ago) Permalink

yeah, getting all "I see through their pyrrhic immaturity" about death grips antics misses something fundamental (or states the blatently obvious) about a band whose first record started with a charlie manson sample.

CGI fridays (Edward III), Monday, 10 December 2012 15:50 (5 months ago) Permalink

lol my "i bet they are totally irresponsible punk guys" was why i assumed they'd be late to their show and why i missed it cuz _I_ showed up late
